Methods: Forty Sprague-Dawley rats (female and male take one half for each), 3-month old, were divided into a control group, a model group, a routine electroacupuncture group (current intensity, 1 mA) and a strong electroacupuncture group (current intensity, 4.5 mA), 10 rats in each group.

Objective: To study the triterpenoid saponins in the rhizome of Anemone flaccida.
Methods: The constituents were separated with various chromatographic techniques and their structures were elucidated by means of physicochemical properties and the analysis of their spectral datas.
Results: Five compounds were isolated and identified as 3-O-beta-D-glucuronypyranosyl-oleanolic acid-28-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1 --> 4)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl(1 --> 6)-beta-D-glucopyra noside (1), 3-O-beta-D-glucuronypyranosyl-oleanolic acid-28-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl (1 --> 6)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (2), 3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosy (1 --> 2)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-oleanolic acid-28-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1 --> 4)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl (1 --> 6)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (3), 3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1 --> 2)-alpha-L-arabinopyrano-syl-oleanolic acid-28-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1 -->4)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl (1 --> 6)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (4), 3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1 --> 2)-beta-D-xylopyranosyl-oleanolic acid-28-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1 --> 4)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl (1 --> 6)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (5).
Objective: To observe the effects of two different acupuncture treatment on cerebral blood flow velocity and early rehabilitation of hemiparalysis caused by cerebral infarction.
Methods: Eighty patients were randomly divided into an alternate acupuncture group (n = 40) and a routine acupuncture group (n = 40). Both of the groups were treated with routine neurology medicine and application of good limb position combined with acupuncture.

Objective: To compare therapeutic effects of acupoint-injection and Chinese herbs for treatment of lumbago-leg pain induced by primary osteoporosis.
Methods: Ninety cases of lumbago-leg pain induced by primary osteoporosis were randomly divided into a Jiaji point group, a reinforcing kidney and strengthening spleen point group and a medication group, 30 cases in each group. For the Jiaji point group, bilateral Jiaji points T11, L1, L3, L5 and S2 were selected; for the reinforcing kidney and strengthening spleen point group, Pishu (BL 20), Shenshu (BL 23), Taixi (KI 3), Taibai (SP 3), Taichong (LR 3), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Xuehai (SP 10) were selected and the medication group were treated with oral administration of Qianggu Capsules.

Objective: To probe into the bidirectional regulation of acupuncture in the rat with motility abnormality of the stomach and the nerve mechanism.
Methods: Adopting electrophysiological methods, the extracellular discharge signals of neuronic action in NTS were recorded with glass microelectrodes. The effects of acupuncture at "Zusanli" (ST 36), "Neiguan" (PC 6), "Zhongwan" (CV 12), "Qihai" (CV 6) on discharges of NTS neurons and intra-gastric pressure were observed in the rat at normal physiological state, and increase or reduction of gastric motility.

Objective: To establish a method of HPLC-fingerprint spectrum (HPLC-FPS) for the active part in Semen Ziziphi Spinosae (SZS) in order to control the quality of SZS from different places.
Methods: The gradient elution mode was applied in chromatographic separation, and data were analysed by" Similarity Evaluation software" to compare the HPLC-FPS of SZS from different places.
Results: The conditions for HPLC analysis of SZS were established and the FPS of samples from different habitats showed some differences.

Objective: To explore the possibility of electroacupuncture (EA) for prevention of the injury of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra of the rat with Parkinson's disease.
Methods: Wistar rats were randomly divided into a normal group, a model group, a sham-operation group and an EA group. 6-OH-DA was injected into right substantia nigra of the midbrain to made Parkinson's disease rat model with single side substantia nigra injury, and TH/TUNEL method and rotation behavior observation method were used to observe changes of rotation behavior and apoptosis of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra after EA at "Taichong" (LR 3) and "Fengfu" (GV 16) for 3 d, 7 d and 14 d.

Objective: To dynamically observe the effect of Shenshuai Mixture (SM) on repair of kidney in acute renal failure (ARF) rats.
Methods: Male SD rats were divided into 4 groups randomly, the normal group, the SM group, the verapamil group and the model control group. Except those in the normal group were treated with normal saline without modeling, all remaining rats, after being made into ARF model by intra-muscular injection of glycerin, were treated with SM, verapamil and normal saline respectively via gastrogavage.

Method: The characteristic features of the rhizome were studies by morphological and microscopic observation.
Results: The description and transverse features of transverse section of the rhizome were described, and in the powder the microscopic features such as cluster needle crystals, tentacle, ring-thread vessel were found.

Methods: Analyze mechanisms of indications of Suliao (GV 25) and Shuigou (GV 26) in TCM "viscera-state doctrine" as the center and in combination with anatomy of western medicine.
Results: Not only put forward the corresponding relation ("re-preparation" of external forms) of the five sense organs with five solid organs, and also use this theory to explain the reasons why Suliao (GV 25), Shuigou (GV 26) and round some extra-ordinary points (Bijian, Bizhonggou) have same indications.

Objective: To explore the mechanism of electroacupuncture at "Neiguan" (PC 6) antagonizing myocardial ischemia injury.
Methods: Forty rabbits were randomly divided into 4 groups, model control group, naloxone control group, electroacupuncture plus cerebral spinal fluid group, and electroacupuncture plus naloxone group, 10 rabbits in each group. The effects of electroacupuncture at "Neiguan" (PC 6) after injection of naloxone into the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus on myocardial ultrastructure, II lead ECG and transmembrane potentials of the ischemic myocardial cell in the rabbit of myocardial ischemia were investigated.

Methods: Investigating the influence of the granule size of medical material, extraction temperature, extraction pressure, extraction time, releasing and separating condition on the extraction of angelica oil by the orthogonal design and other methods.
Results: The optimum extraction is as follows: the granule size of medical material, 40 mu; extraction temperature, 40 degrees C; extraction pressure, 25Mpa; extraction time, 2 hours; flow of CO2, 20 L/h; pressure of separation pot I, 8Mpa; temperature of separation pot I, 50 degrees C; pressure of separation pot II, 6Mpa; temperature of separation pot II, 50 degrees C.

The efficacy of Kexue Ning (stopping hemoptysis) in the treatment of acute hemoptysis, and its comparison with that of the control group (treated with western medicine) are reported in this paper. The results showed that both the time for cessation of hemoptysis and the cure rate were better in the therapeutic group than in the control group. In addition, marked improvement in blood rheology after treatment was also found in the therapeutic group, but not in the control group.

A simultaneously comparative study on pulmonary artery compliance (Cpa) and pulmonary artery mean pressure (PAMP) in 89 patients with Lung-Distention in TCM by impedance pulmonary rheogram, tricuspid valve echocardiogram and right heart catheterization. Then according to Syndrome Differentiation of TCM, Lung-Distention was sub-divided into four groups. The results showed that PAMP were gradually increased and Cpa decreased in these groups.
