This study tried to focus on the older drivers' group and explore the impact factors of injury severity involving older drivers from geo-spatial analysis. To reach the goal, a spatial analysis was proposed employing geographic information systems (GIS) with a case study application to two counties in Nevada. Background: The impact of aortic arch (AA) morphology on the management of the procedural details and the clinical outcomes of the transfemoral artery (TF)-transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has not been evaluated. The goal of this study was to evaluate the AA morphology of patients who had TF-TAVR using an artificial intelligence algorithm and then to evaluate its predictive value for clinical outcomes.
Materials And Methods: A total of 1480 consecutive patients undergoing TF-TAVR using a new-generation transcatheter heart valve at 12 institutes were included in this retrospective study.

Purpose: Type II diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has been found to increase the mortality of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Therefore, this study aimed to establish and validate a machine learning-based explainable prediction model of prognosis in patients with HCC and T2DM undergoing transarterial chemoembolization (TACE).
Patients And Methods: The prediction model was developed using data from the derivation cohort comprising patients from three medical centers, followed by external validation utilizing patient data extracted from another center.

Efferocytosis is a mechanism by which phagocytes efficiently clear apoptotic cells, averting their secondary necrosis and the subsequent release of potentially immunogenic or cytotoxic substances that can trigger strong immune and inflammatory responses. During efferocytosis, the metabolic pathways of phagocytes are transformed, which, along with the catabolism of apoptotic cargo, can affect their function and inflammatory state. Extensive apoptosis occurs during placental development, and some studies reported the immunomodulatory effects of efferocytosis at the maternal-fetal interface.

Growth and differentiation factor 15 (GDF15), a member of the transforming growth factor-βsuperfamily, is considered a stress response factor and has garnered increasing attention in recent years due to its roles in neurological diseases. Although many studies have suggested that GDF15 expression is elevated in patients with neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs), glioma, and ischemic stroke, the effects of increased GDF15 expression and the potential underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Notably, many experimental studies have shown the multidimensional beneficial effects of GDF15 on NDDs, and GDF15 overexpression is able to rescue NDD-associated pathological changes and phenotypes.

To clarify the roles and mechanisms of adipokine chemerin in exercise-induced bone improvements in type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) mice and mice fed on high fat diet (HFD). DM mice were established by HFD + streptozotocin injection, exogenous chemerin was supplemented prior to running, and found that exogenous chemerin reversed 6-week exercise-induced improvements in cancellous bone parameters in DM mice. While adipose-specific chemerin knockout improved microstructure and mass of cancellous bone in HFD mice and further increased exercise-induced bone improvements, accompanied with promoted osteogenesis and inhibited osteoclasis represented as the changes of RANKL, M-CSF, Runx2, Osterix, OPG, ALP and CTSK.
