An in-depth understanding of cancer-cell mitosis presents unprecedented advantages for solving metastasis and proliferation of tumors, which has aroused great interest in visualizing the behavior a luminescence tool. We developed a fluorescent molecule CBTZ-yne based on substituent engineering to acquire befitting lipophilicity and electrophilicity for anchoring lipid droplets and the nucleus, in which the low polarity environment and nucleic acids triggered a "weak-strong" fluorescence and "short-long" fluorescence-lifetime response. Meaningfully, CBTZ-yne visualized chromatin condensation, alignment, pull-push, and separation as well as lipid droplet dynamics, for the first time, precisely unveiling the asynchronous cellular mitosis processes affected by photo-generation reactive oxygen species according to the subtle change of fluorescence-lifetime.

Amyloid nanofibrils (ANFs) are supramolecular polymers originally classified as pathological markers in various human degenerative diseases. However, in recent years, ANFs have garnered greater interest and are regarded as nature-based sustainable biomaterials in environmental science, material engineering, and nanotechnology. On a laboratory scale, ANFs can be produced from food proteins via protein unfolding, misfolding, and hydrolysis.

Detecting nuclear spins using single nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers is of particular importance in nanoscale science and engineering but often suffers from the heating effect of microwave fields for spin manipulation, especially under high magnetic fields. Here, we realize an energy-efficient nanoscale nuclear-spin detection using a phase-modulation electron-nuclear double resonance scheme. The microwave field can be reduced to 1/250 of the previous requirements, and the corresponding power is over four orders lower.

Background: During active infections, plants prevent further spread of pathogenic microorganisms by inducing the rapid programmed death of cells around the infection point. This phenomenon is called the hypersensitive response and is a common feature of plant immune responses. Plants recognize conserved structures of pathogenic microorganisms, called pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs), .

Systemic pesticide exposure through nectar is a growing global concern linked to loss of insect diversity, especially pollinators. The insecticide sulfoxaflor and the fungicide tebuconazole are currently widely used systemic pesticides which are toxic to certain pollinators. However, their metabolisms in floral or extrafloral nectar under different application methods have not yet been well studied.

Background: Soy protein gel products are prone to direct oxidation by reactive oxygen during processing and transportation, thus reducing their functional properties and nutritional values. A covalent complex was prepared with soy protein isolate (SPI) and ferulic acid (FA) catalyzed by laccase (LC). The complex was further treated with microbial transglutaminase (TGase) to form hydrogels.

In recent years, academics have paid more attention to green finance, and public companies have reached a broad consensus on the concept of timely environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosure. Due to the close relationship between green finance and ESG, this presents an opportunity to determine whether green finance compels companies to actively disclose ESG. The sample for this study consists of China's non-financial A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2021, and the empirical findings demonstrate that green finance can positively influence the ESG performance of listed companies.

Photocatalytic hydrogen production is a promising technology that can generate renewable energy. However, light absorption and fast electron transfer are two main challenges that restrict the practical application of photocatalysis. Moreover, most of the composite photocatalysts that possess better photocatalytic performance are fabricated by various methods, many of which are complicated and in which, the key conditions are hard to control.

Carbon emission is related to global ecological security, and economic development inevitably leads to an increase in carbon emission. In recent years, as a rapidly developing province in China's economy, Anhui Province has experienced significant differences in the spatiotemporal distribution of carbon emission in different regions due to differences in development foundation, urbanization level, population size, industrial structure, etc., providing representative empirical cases for research.

Hyperglycemia resulting from over-gluconeogenesis is a prominent feature of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Therefore, it is very important to reduce glucose output, especially liver glucose output, and maintain blood glucose homeostasis in the treatment of T2DM. It has been found that small molecules of natural flavonoids are able to act on various targets in the gluconeogenic pathways, interfering with rate-limiting enzyme activity or regulating the cascade of hormonal signaling and affecting all levels of transcription factors by limiting the transport of non-sugar substrates.

Marine planktonic diatoms are among the most important contributors to phytoplankton blooms and marine net primary production. Their ecological success has been attributed to their ability to rapidly respond to changing environmental conditions. Here, we report common molecular mechanisms used by the model marine diatom Thalassiosira pseudonana to respond to 10 diverse environmental stressors using RNA-Seq analysis.

Background: Middle and primary school teachers are experiencing considerable stress from their careers. However, previous studies on work stress among teachers focused on the influence of various types of stress on individuals but failed to explore the relationship among middle and primary school teachers' work stress, psychache. We aimed to examine the basic conditions of the challenge-hindrance stress of middle and primary school teachers as well as its relationship with psychache and psychological resilience.

To investigate the use of nanoparticle (NP)-encapsulated injectable thermosensitive hydrogel-formed nanogel for inhibition of postsurgical residual temozolomide (TMZ)-resistant glioblastoma (GBM) recurrence. Curcumin (Cur) was coloaded with TMZ into PEG-PLGA NPs, then NPs were further encapsulated into a thermosensitive hydrogel to form a nanogel, which was injected into the resection cavity of the GBM postsurgery. The prepared nanogel displayed excellent drug-loading capacity and long-term drug release.

The aim of this study was to clarify the mechanism by which thinning alters stand structure and affects forest productivity by characterizing changes in stand quantitative maturity age, stand diameter distribution, structural heterogeneity, and forest productivity of Chinese fir plantations at different thinning times and intensities. Our findings provide insights into how the density of stands could be modified to enhance the yield and timber quality of Chinese fir plantations. The significance of differences in individual tree volume, stand volume, and timber merchantable volume was determined using one-way analysis of variance and Duncan tests.

Introduction: The leaf, the main product organ, is an essential factor in determining the Chinese cabbage growth, yield and quality.
Methods: To explore the regulatory mechanism of leaf size development of Chinese cabbage, we investigated the leaf size difference between two high-generation inbred lines of Chinese cabbage, Y2 (large leaf) and Y7 (small leaf). Furtherly, the transcriptome and cis-acting elements analyses were conducted.

Unlabelled: To examine the synergetic effects of ocean acidification (OA) and light intensity on the photosynthetic performance of marine diatoms, the marine centric diatom was cultured under ambient low CO (LC, 390 μatm) and elevated high CO (HC, 1000 μatm) levels under low-light (LL, 60 μmol m s) or high-light (HL, 220 μmol m s) conditions for over 20 generations. HL stimulated the growth rate by 128 and 99% but decreased cell size by 9 and 7% under LC and HC conditions, respectively. However, HC did not change the growth rate under LL but decreased it by 9% under HL.
