Ischemic stroke (IS) often causes fearful sequela, even death. Curcumin was beneficial to IS, but its underlying molecular mechanism is unclear. Mice were subjected to middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) surgery, and BV-2 cells were treated with oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) induction to establish IS models in vivo and in vitro.

Background: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a common musculoskeletal condition affecting millions of people worldwide and posing a significant challenge to clinicians and researchers. Emerging evidence suggests that the multifaceted symptomatology of KOA may be alleviated by diacerein. With this in mind, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of diacerein in patients with KOA.

Objective: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) of "Tianshu"(ST25) and "Dachangshu"(BL25) on the intestinal transit function, expression level of glial cell-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and methylation level of GDNF gene promoter region in colon tissue of rats with slow transit constipation (STC), so as to explore its mechanisms underlying improvement of STC.
Methods: Male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomized into control, saline, model and EA groups (=16 in each group). The STC model was replicated by gavage of compound diphenoxylate suspension (10 mL· kg· d) for 28 days.

Patients with light-chain cardiac amyloidosis (AL-CA) are characterized by high levels of serum carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA 125). However, studies have not explored the correlation between CA 125 and AL-CA. The aim of this study was to explore the clinical implications of an increase in CA 125 in patients with AL-CA.
