Objective: To identify risk factors for loss to follow-up after inferior vena cava (IVC) filter placement in inpatients of other departments (IODs) and to determine whether a quality improvement project launched at our institution in April 2022 improved follow-up and filter retrieval rates in these patients.

Methods: Consecutive patients who underwent retrievable filter placement at our institution between March 2021 and March 2023 were included in this study. Patients were divided into preimprovement (before April 2022; n = 81) and postimprovement (after April 2022; n = 77) groups.

Objective: To develop and validate a nomogram for predicting non-retrieval of the short-term retrievable inferior vena cava (IVC) filters.

Methods: In this study, univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identify predictive factors of short-term retrievable filter (Aegisy or OptEase) non-retrieval, and a nomogram was then established based on these factors. The nomogram was created based on data from a training cohort and validated based on data from a validation cohort.

Intracardiopulmonary migration of inferior vena cava filters: An updated systematic review.

J Vasc Surg Venous Lymphat Disord

November 2024

Department of Interventional and Vascular Surgery, Changzhou No. 2 People's Hospital, Changzhou, China. Electronic address:

Objective: Intracardiopulmonary migration of an inferior vena cava (IVC) filter is an uncommon but potentially life-threatening complication. A previous systematic review including data through 2008 found that the most common cause for migration was operator error and that open thoracotomy was the best first option for management. The aim of this study was to assess the clinical presentation and causes of intracardiopulmonary filter migration, as well as the most commonly used management strategies over the past 15 years.

Objective: To develop and validate a nomogram combining radiomics and pathology features to distinguish between aldosterone-producing adenomas (APAs) and nonfunctional adrenal adenomas (NF-AAs).

Methods: Consecutive patients diagnosed with adrenal adenomas via computed tomography (CT) or pathologic analysis between January 2011 and November 2022 were eligible for inclusion in this retrospective study. CT images and hematoxylin & eosin-stained slides were used for annotation and feature extraction.

Background: You Only Look Once version 5 (YOLOv5), a one-stage deep-learning (DL) algorithm for object detection and classification, offers high speed and accuracy for identifying targets.

Purpose: To investigate the feasibility of using the YOLOv5 algorithm to non-invasively distinguish between aldosterone-producing adenomas (APAs) and non-functional adrenocortical adenomas (NF-ACAs) on computed tomography (CT) images.

Material And Methods: A total of 235 patients who were diagnosed with ACAs between January 2011 and July 2022 were included in this study.

Objective: To identify risk factors for in-stent restenosis (ISR) in patients undergoing stent placement for superior mesenteric artery dissection (SMAD) and to determine the hemodynamic mechanism underlying ISR.

Methods: For this retrospective study, patients with SMAD who had ISR after stent placement were included in the ISR group, and age- and sex-matched patients with SMAD who did not experience ISR after stent placement were included in the control group. Clinical, imaging, and hemodynamic data were assessed.

A change in strategy for filter choice leads to improved filter retrieval rates.

Heart Vessels

July 2024

Department of Interventional and Vascular Surgery, Changzhou No. 2 People's Hospital, Xinglong road 29, Changzhou, 213003, China.

Objective: To assess whether a new strategy for the choice of inferior vena cava filter placed would improve filter retrieval rates at our institution.

Methods: Consecutive patients who underwent retrievable filter placement for temporary embolic protection between January 2021 and January 2023 were considered for study inclusion. Risk factors for nonretrieval of short-term filters were identified in patients receiving filters between January 2021 and January 2022 (prestrategy group).

Background: To quantitatively analyze histological and fiber structure of the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) wall and to further explore the possible relationship between the architecture and histology changes of vessel wall and the occurrence of related diseases.

Methods: Histological and fiber structure analysis were performed on SMA specimens obtained from 22 cadavers. The SMA specimens were divided into initial, curved, and distal segments, and each segment was separated into the anterior and posterior walls.

In patients with diabetic wounds, wound healing is impaired due to the presence of persistent oxidative stress, an altered inflammatory response, and impaired angiogenesis and epithelization. Salvianolic acid B (SAB), which is derived from the Chinese medicinal plant Salvia miltiorrhiza, has been found to exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and proangiogenic effects. Previous studies have used 3D bioprinting technology incorporating sodium alginate (SA) and gelatin (Gel) as basic biomaterials to successfully produce artificial skin.

The anti-inflammatory activity of cirsilineol in in vivo condition was assessed by measuring the relative organ weight, lung dry/wet weight ratio, protein concentration, and infiltration of inflammatory cells in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. We estimated the myeloperoxidase activity and levels of cytokines, chemokines, and inflammatory markers to analyze the efficacy of cirsilineol against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced lung inflammation. Furthermore, we quantified the gene expression of NFkB/IKK signaling molecules in cirsilineol-treated and untreated acute lung injury mice to confirm the anti-inflammatory property of cirsilineol.

LncRNA XIST upregulates TRIM25 via negatively regulating miR-192 in hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma.

Mol Med

April 2021

Department of Interventional Radiology, Huaian Hospital of Huai'an City, No. 161 Zhenhuailou East Road, Huai'an City, 223200, Jiangsu Province, People's Republic of China.

Background: Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) XIST has been implicated in the progression of a variety of tumor diseases. The purpose of this study was to explore the molecular role of lncRNA XIST in human hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Methods: The expression levels of lncRNA XIST, miR-192 and TRIM25 in HBV-related HCC tissues and HepG2.
