Background: The clinical effects and detailed roles of long non-coding RNA (LncRNA) steroid receptor RNA activator 1 (SRA1) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remain ambiguous. In the present study, the complementary sites between lncRNA SRA1, miRNA-363-5p, and phospholysine phosphohistidine inorganic pyrophosphate phosphatase (LHPP) predicted bioinformatics analysis stimulated us to hypothesize that miRNA-363-5p/LHPP axis might be required for SRA1-mediated ESCC progression.
Aim: To investigate the molecular events of SRA1 in the malignant behavior in ESCC.

Background: The primary objectives of this study were to focus on one - year unplanned readmissions after THA in ONFH patients and to investigate rates, causes, and independent risk factors.
Methods: Between October 2014 and April 2019, eligible patients undergoing THA were enrolled and divided into unplanned readmission within one year and no readmission in this study. All unplanned readmissions within 1 year of discharge were reviewed for causes and the rate of unplanned readmissions was calculated.

Purpose: This study aimed to characterize the preoperative deep venous thrombosis (DVT) of lower extremity by locations and evaluate the diagnostic ability of plasma D-dimer level in elderly patients with hip fracture.
Method: This retrospective study reviewed the elderly patients presenting with a hip fracture definitely undergoing surgical treatment and identified those who had preoperative DVT. Data on demographics, lifestyle habits, comorbidities and laboratory indexes were extracted and collected.

Background: The model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) score is a marker used to evaluate end-stage liver disease in patients with liver failure and is suggested to be valuable in evaluating heart diseases such as heart failure. Because patients with heart failure and myocardial infarction often use anticoagulants, there is an impact on the international normalized ratio (INR). Therefore, removing the INR from MELD score to form MELD-XI score may help to more accurately evaluate the cardiac function in patients with heart failure.

Aim: The purpose of this study was to examine the incidence and cause of unplanned readmission after Surgically Treated Hip Fractures in Elderly Patients and identify the associated risk factors.
Methods: This study retrospectively collected the data on elderly patients who underwent hip fracture surgery at two institutions from January 2020 to December 2021, and identified those who were readmitted within 12 months postoperatively. Based on the presence or not of postoperative readmission, they were divided into readmission and non-readmission groups.

Background And Objective: Clinical overlap is observed between multiple sclerosis (MS) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein immunoglobulin-G (MOG-IgG) associated disease (MOGAD) and the difficulty in distinguishing between the two diseases. Here, we measured and compared the readily available neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and monocyte to lymphocyte ratio (MLR) to determine whether these three biomarkers can help to distinguish MOGAD and MS at disease onset. The impact of these three biomarkers on MOGAD and MS relapse also needs to be explored.

Aberrant expression of microRNA-497 (miR-497) is associated with tumor progression, but the molecular mechanisms in tumorigenesis remain largely unknown. Here, we report that miR-497 expression is downregulated in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) clinical samples. Consistently, upregulation of miR-497 inhibits ESCC cell malignant properties and tumor growth in vivo.

This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of ADC value combined with GPR for liver fibrosis grading.

Diabetic retinopathy is a heterogeneous retinal degenerative disease with the microvascular dysfunction being recognized as a hallmark of the advanced stage. In this study, we demonstrated that exosomes collected from the vitreous humor of proliferative diabetic retinopathy patients promoted proliferation, migration and tube formation ability of primary human retinal endothelial cells via its elevated miR-9-3p expression level. Müller glia cells were further recognized as the sole source of the aberrantly expressed miR-9-3p, and both and experiments validated that Müller glia-derived exosomes aggravate vascular dysfunction under high glucose.

Methods:: Mice were pretreated with hyperin at doses of 25 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg, respectively, for six days, and intraperitoneal injection of cisplatin (40 mg/kg) was administrated one hour after the final intragastrication of hyperin. Twenty-four hours later, blood and liver were collected for further research.
