Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) overexpression is one of the most notable characteristics in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). The MAPK kinase (MEK) inhibitor trametinib has shown efficacy to treat HNSCC; however, the molecular mechanism remains unclear.
Methods: HNSCC lines, mouse models, Western blot, and flow cytometry were employed to analyze the anticancer effects of trametinib.

Objectives: The study utilized a cross-sectional survey to determine the short-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on dental care practices. The authors hypothesized that the effects of the pandemic would indicate differences based on the ethnicity of the participating dentist.
Materials And Methods: The survey was available online between June 1, 2020 and July 10, 2020, a period when many dental offices remained closed, and for the most part, unable to provide non-emergency dental care.

The Food and Drug Administration has recently approved the off-label use of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) for the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections. However, a recent study not only failed to demonstrate HCQ efficacy but also documented a serious side effect of COVID-19 therapy with HCQ: QT prolongation and secondary arrhythmia. HCQ has been used as an off-label drug and deemed safe and effective for the treatment of oral lesions, such as Sjogren syndrome (SS), chronic ulcerative stomatitis (CUS), and oral lichen planus (OLP).

A case of a 19-year-old female patient is presented to a private practice dental clinician with swelling of the lower lip and inflammation of the anterior dorsal tongue. The patient presented with moderate oral pain as well as abdominal pain. The lesions were biopsied and noted for a granulomatous histopathologic appearance.

An understanding of fundamental orthodontic principles involving diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical strategies is essential for achieving successful outcomes in the treatment of craniofacial patients, particularly cleft lip/palate. This article focuses on: customizing a mandibular dental arch form using the WALA ridge; accurately diagnosing the maxillary skeletal transverse dimension (cusp to cusp/fossa to fossa); coordinating the upper dental arch with the lower; using a smiling profile and glabella vertical to assess anteroposterior jaw position; and leveling the mandibular curve of Spee while considering the lower one-third of the face. These concepts influence treatment outcomes to the extent they are used.

The notable features of ameloblastoma do not typically include prominent vascularity. However, on rare occasions, vascular ameloblastoma has been described under a variety of names. We present a case of vascularized ameloblastoma that had a bloody return on fine-needle aspiration.

The purpose of this study was to document changes in social perceptions and facial esthetics, and document occlusion outcomes in a series of short face (SF) dentofacial deformity (DFD) subjects. The investigators hypothesized that subjects would achieve positive change in social perceptions and facial esthetics, and maintain a long-term corrected occlusion after undergoing bimaxillary and chin osteotomies.A retrospective cohort study was implemented.

Background: The investigators hypothesized that a layperson's social perceptions of an adolescent cleft lip and palate (CL/P) patient are more favorable after orthognathic surgery and definitive nasal reconstruction.
Methods: The investigators implemented a survey comparing layperson's perception of specific social traits before and >6 months after jaw and nasal reconstruction in CL/P adolescent subjects by viewing standardized facial photographs. The sample was composed of 10 consecutive subjects treated by 1 surgeon from birth through completion of their staged reconstruction.

There are multiple reasons for failure of full maxillary dentures. It is necessary for clinicians to consider the rationale behind the failure of the prosthesis before remaking a maxillary full denture. Diagnostic categories related to pertinent maxillofacial and oral neuropathies and psychosocial issues are also discussed.

One successful approach to improving health outcomes is the use of a checklist by health care providers. Despite the evidence of the success of such checklists in nursing and medicine, there is little evidence on their use in improving dental outcomes.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare a cohort of patients who had a developmental dentofacial deformity (DFD) and then underwent redo orthognathic surgery (OGS) to a similar cohort who underwent primary OGS. We hypothesized that there would be no difference in operative time, blood replacement, perioperative airway risks, length of hospital stay, or complication rates.
Study Design: We implemented a retrospective study of patients with a DFD initially treated with orthodontics and jaw osteotomies and later with redo OGS.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe a consecutive series of subjects with HME who underwent orthognathic correction after 26 years of age. The investigators hypothesized that for this group of HME subjects, bimaxillary orthognathic correction would result in a favorable initial and long-term occlusion.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective cohort study was implemented.

Introduction: Immature necrotic teeth are at a high risk of fracture, especially at the cervical region, after treatment. This study aimed to compare the impact and fracture strength of immature permanent teeth treated with revascularization versus a mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) plug and fiber post.
Methods: This in vitro, experimental study was conducted on 160 maxillary central incisors, which were randomly divided into 10 groups.
