Background: Laparoscopic solid organ surgery has gained growing acceptance, but this does not hold for laparoscopic surgery of the liver. Laparoscopic liver surgery mainly comprizes diagnostic procedures and treatment of liver cysts. However, we believe there is room for a laparoscopic approach to the liver in selected cases, with the benefits that may be expected from laparoscopic solid organ surgery.

Twenty-three patients with premature ovarian failure (POF), were investigated on the basis of cell-mediated immunity. An increase in T-cells and especially T-helper cells was found in the group of POF patients, while T-suppressor cells and B-cells did not exceed the counts compared to healthy controls matched for age and sex. The macrophage migration inhibition factor (MIF) assay showed a decreased activity towards Haemophiles influenza.

This research asked whether androgen substitution therapy is as efficacious in hypogonadotropic hypogonadal men as in hypergonadotropic hypogonadal men. Erotosexual functions of two groups of six men of each diagnostic category were compared after 5-6 years of continuous androgen treatment. Treatment regimen was the same in both groups: Parenteral testosterone esters 250 mg/2 weeks.
