To further investigate the action of a NAC-based solution in ccRCC cell lines, 786-O and SN12C were incubated in a serum-free acid medium (low pH) in the presence of 2 mM NAC for 24 hours or in a serum-free medium (normal pH) as the control, and then a phenotypic and proteomic analyses were performed.

Background: Golgi protein 73 (GP73) is a potential serum marker for the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). MicroRNAs (miRs) are short, highly conserved small noncoding RNA molecules with fundamental roles in regulating gene expression. To identify miR biomarkers associated with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), the expression pattern of miRs in exosomes from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) of elderly patients with IPF were evaluated. High‑throughput quantitative detection of miR expression using a microarray indicated that miR‑125b, miR‑128, miR‑21, miR‑100, miR‑140‑3p and miR‑374b were upregulated in patients with IPF, while let‑7d, miR‑103, miR‑26 and miR‑30a‑5p were downregulated.

Background And Purpose: A multicentre prospective registry study of individually tailored stenting for a patient with symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS) combined with poor collaterals in China showed that the short-term safety and efficacy of stenting was acceptable. However, it remained uncertain whether the low event rate could be of a long term. We reported the 1-year outcome of this registry study to evaluate the long-term efficacy of individually tailored stenting for patients with severe symptomatic ICAS combined with poor collaterals.

The present study aims to analyze the expression of broad spectrum cytokeratin in the cervical lymph nodes of patients with mandibular gingival squamous cell carcinoma and explore the metastasis of mandibular gingival squamous cell carcinoma in cervical lymph nodes. This study included 42 patients with mandibular gingival squamous cell carcinoma, which was staged according to the clinical staging criteria by International Union Against Cancer 2002 (UICC) and the Level staging method of cervical lymph node by American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery 1991. Monoclonal mouse anti-human cytokeratin (AE1/AE3) antibody was used in immunohistochemical examination and hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining.

It has been reported that microRNA-142 (miR-142) is a tumor suppressor gene. The present study primarily investigated whether the overexpression of miR-142 was able to inhibit the proliferation, apoptosis and expression of apoptosis-associated proteins in osteosarcoma (OS) cells. Different concentrations of miR-142 were transfected into the OS MG-63 cell line using Lipofectamine 2000.
