Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) ranks among the most prevalent cancers worldwide, highlighting the urgent need for improved diagnostic and therapeutic methodologies. The standard treatment regimen generally involves surgical intervention followed by systemic therapies; however, the median survival rates for patients remain unsatisfactory. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy has emerged as a pivotal advancement in cancer treatment.

Ovarian cancer (OC) is a significant cause of cancer-related mortality in women worldwide. Despite advances in treatment modalities, including surgery and chemotherapy, the overall prognosis for OC patients remains poor, particularly for patients with advanced or recurrent disease. Immunotherapy, particularly immune checkpoint blockade (ICB), has revolutionized cancer treatment in various malignancies but has shown limited efficacy in treating OC, which is primarily attributed to the immunologically.

Phyllanthi Fructus (PF) is a tropical fruit with the potential to effectively reduce postprandial blood glucose. However, the lack of quantitative evaluation methods and comprehensive understanding of hypoglycemic active compounds has hindered the development and application of functional foods and dietary supplements derived from PF. In this study, based on the "mass reaction parallel line method", with acarbose as the control and PF extract as the test material, a biological evaluation method for PF hypoglycemic activity based on α-glucosidase inhibition was established for the first time.

Autophagy is a highly conserved cellular self-digestive process that underlies the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. Autophagy is classified into three types: macrophage, chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA) and microphagy, which maintain cellular homeostasis through different mechanisms. Altered autophagy regulation affects the progression of various skin diseases, including psoriasis (PA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), vitiligo, atopic dermatitis (AD), alopecia areata (AA) and systemic sclerosis (SSc).

Avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH) is a progressive, multifactorial, and challenging clinical condition that often leads to hip dysfunction and deterioration. The pathogenesis of ANFH is complex, and there is no foolproof treatment strategy. Although some pharmacologic and surgical treatments have been shown to improve ANFH, the associated side effects and poor prognosis are of concern.

Background: Tandem Spinal Stenosis (TSS) is a disease characterised by the narrowing of the spinal canal in two or more non-adjacent areas of the spine, often affecting both the cervical and lumbar vertebrae. Doctors and patients increasingly favour non-surgical treatments that have the function of relieving symptoms and improving outcomes. This systematic review aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of non-surgical therapies for TSS and comprehensively summarise existing evidence.

Numerous animal studies have indicated that resveratrol enhances cardiac function in diabetic cardiomyopathy; however, its reliability and underlying mechanism remain unclear. This study aims to assess the cardioprotective effects of resveratrol on DCM and explore its potential mechanism.

Background: No specific triglyceride-lowering therapy is recommended in patients with hypertriglyceridemia-associated acute pancreatitis (HTG-AP), primarily because of the lack of quality evidence. This study aimed to describe practice variations in triglyceride-lowering therapies for early HTG-AP patients and assess whether more rapid triglyceride decline is associated with improving organ failure.
Methods: This is a multicentre, prospective cohort study recruiting HTG-AP patients with elevated plasma triglyceride (> 11.

Background: There are few proven treatments for acute spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage, and they all target reducing expansion of the haematoma. The traditional Chinese medicine FYTF-919 (Zhongfeng Xingnao) in an oral solution is comprised of several Chinese herbs that are widely used to treat patients with intracerebral haemorrhage in China on the understanding that they enhance resorption of the haematoma and reduce neuroinflammation. We aimed to provide a reliable assessment of the safety and efficacy of FYTF-919 in patients with moderate to severe acute intracerebral haemorrhage.

Lung disease development involves multiple cellular processes, including inflammation, cell death, and proliferation. Research increasingly indicates that autophagy and its regulatory proteins can influence inflammation, programmed cell death, cell proliferation, and innate immune responses. Autophagy plays a vital role in the maintenance of homeostasis and the adaptation of eukaryotic cells to stress by enabling the chelation, transport, and degradation of subcellular components, including proteins and organelles.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) commonly metastasizes to the liver, and this poses a significant clinical challenge. Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), key players within the TME, play a significant role in promoting CRC metastasis by secreting various chemokines, growth factors, and cytokines. This review not only aims to enhance our knowledge of TAMs' functions in CRC progression and metastasis but also examines innovative therapeutic strategies to address the clinical problem of colorectal liver metastasis (CLM).

Liver fibrosis is a pathological repair response that occurs after sustained liver damage, and prompt intervention is necessary to prevent liver fibrosis from developing into a potentially life-threatening condition. In long-term liver injury, damaged hepatocytes produce excessive amounts of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which activate hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). This activation leads to excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix proteins in liver tissue.

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a prevalent chronic condition that poses a significant threat to human health. There is a close connection between the gut and kidneys, jointly influencing the onset and progression of CKD through the "gut-kidney axis." Traditional Chinese medicine has shown potential in CKD treatment, but the specific mechanisms require further investigation.

Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) is widely recognized as one of the principal modalities for diagnosing tricuspid regurgitation (TR). The diagnostic procedures associated with conventional methods are intricate and labor-intensive, with human errors leading to measurement variability, with outcomes critically dependent on the operators' diagnostic expertise. In this study, we present an innovative assessment methodology for evaluating TR severity utilizing an end-to-end deep learning system.
