The study examines the outcomes of converting high tibial osteotomy (HTO) to total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in 33 knees of 31 patients, over a span of 10 years, focusing on functional and radiological results, as well as complications.
Post-surgery results show significant improvements in knee functions and alignment: KSS scores increased markedly, average knee flexion improved, and key radiographic measurements (aFTA, MPTA, TS) showed positive changes.
The findings suggest that this surgical conversion can effectively enhance quality of life for patients with prior HTO, with a good safety profile noted over an average follow-up of 4.3 years.
