Background And Purpose: The aim was to estimate the cost of the external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) in public health care centers in Catalonia (Spain), according to the ESTRO-HERO costing model for 2018.
Materials And Methods: Personnel, equipment, and activity data from 2018 from the 11 RT centers were used, incorporating European mean values adapted to the Catalan context. Secondly, EBRT costs were estimated, incorporating 2023 fractionation technique and scheme usage percentages.

Background: Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) are focal dilatations of the abdominal aorta that expand progressively, increasing their risk of rupture. Rupture of an AAA is associated with high mortality rates, but the mechanisms underlying the initiation, expansion, and rupture of AAAs are not yet fully understood. We aimed to characterize the pathophysiology of AAAs and identify new genes associated with AAA initiation and progression.

Objective: The aim of the study was to assess the feasibility and safety of early mobilisation in patients with shock requiring vasoactive drugs in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis.
Setting: Intensive care unit (ICU).
Background: Lung ultrasound (LUS) has emerged as a useful tool in the acute phase of patients admitted for ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction. However, its long-term significance remains uncertain, and risk scores do not include LUS findings as a predictor. This study aims to assess the 1-year prognostic value of LUS and its ability to enhance existing risk scores.

Introduction: Brain glucose hypometabolism is a preclinical feature of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Dietary omega-3 fatty acids promote brain glucose metabolism, but clinical research is incipient. Circulating omega-3s objectively reflect their dietary intake.

Evidence shows a strong association between pollution and climate change on cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, and pulmonary vascular disease (PVD) is no exception. An increasing number of studies has documented the impact of environmental pollution and extreme temperatures on pulmonary circulation and the right heart, on the severity and outcomes of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (PH), on the incidence of pulmonary embolism, and the prevalence and severity of diseases associated with PH.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) adds a substantial disease burden, including higher mortality, when associated with interstitial lung disease (ILD), a severe, chronic, progressive condition. Yet little is known of the lived experiences, perspectives, priorities, and viewpoints of patients and carers living with PH-ILD. The Voice of the Patient meeting at the center of this qualitative research study aims to provide these difficult-to-obtain insights from a European perspective for the first time.

Background: Despite growing interest in workplace mental health interventions, evidence of their effectiveness is mixed. Implementation science offers a valuable lens to investigate the factors influencing successful implementation. However, evidence synthesis is lacking, especially for small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and for specific work sectors.

Purpose: We aimed to develop a standardized method to calculate daily dose (i.e., the amount of drug a patient was exposed to per day) of any drug on a global scale using only drug information of typical observational data in the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership Common Data Model (OMOP CDM) and a single reference table from Observational Health Data Sciences And Informatics (OHDSI).

No previous meta-analysis has focused on minor ischemic stroke alone. The objective was to evaluate the pooled proportion of 90-day stroke recurrence for minor ischemic stroke, defined as a National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale severity score of ≤5.

An 83-year-old man with symptomatic severe aortic valve stenosis with severe ventricular dysfunction underwent valvuloplasty with a 25-mm NuCLEUS-X balloon (B. Braun Interventional Systems) and percutaneous coronary intervention of the left main and circumflex arteries (left anterior descending artery presented a chronic total occlusion without viability of this territory) before being referred for transcatheter aortic valve replacement.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) due to interstitial lung disease (ILD), a commonly encountered complication of fibrotic ILDs, is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Until recently, the studies of pulmonary vasodilator therapy in PH-ILD have been largely disappointing, with some even demonstrating the potential for harm. This paper is part of a series of Consensus Statements from the Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute's Innovative Drug Development Initiative for Group 3 Pulmonary Hypertension, with prior publications covering pathogenesis, prevalence, clinical features, phenotyping, clinical trials, and impact of PH-ILD.

Introduction: Patients with bipolar disorder (BD) are frequently exposed to traumatic events which worsen disease course, but this study is the first multicentre randomised controlled trial to test the efficacy of a trauma-focused adjunctive psychotherapy in reducing BD affective relapse rates.
Materials And Methods: This multicentre randomised controlled trial included 77 patients with BD and current trauma-related symptoms. Participants were randomised to either 20 sessions of trauma-focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for BD, or 20 sessions of supportive therapy (ST).

Objective: Mental health problems are increasing in Spain, and those related to drug use are a preventable aspect of public health. In Spain there are few studies on the incidence and characteristics of acute psychosis due to illegal drug use, especially at national and multicenter level, reason that motivated this paper.
Methods: A prospective multicentre study was carried out in eleven hospital Emergency Departments in Spain, lasting twenty-four months (REDUrHE Registry).

Background: Mortality rates in patients with COVID-19 undergoing mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit are high. The causes of this mortality have been rigorously investigated. The aim of the present study is to establish mortality risk factors related to lung mechanics measured at days 1 and 5 in patients with covid-19 ARDS managed with invasive mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit.

Background: Severe cases of lymphopenia have been reported during siponimod clinical trials, which may negatively impact its benefit/risk profile.
Objective: We aimed to evaluate the incidence of lymphopenia following the initiation of siponimod treatment in clinical practice. The secondary objectives included the analysis of factors predisposing to and the clinical relevance of lymphopenia events.

Conservative surgery is the preferred treatment in the management of breast cancer followed by adjuvant whole-breast irradiation. Since the tumor bed is the main site of relapse, boost doses are conveniently administered according to risk factors for local relapse to increase the efficacy of the treatment. The benefit of a radiation boost is well established and it can be performed by several techniques like brachytherapy, external radiation or intraoperative radiotherapy.
