Background: Atherosclerotic plaques in the internal carotid artery are responsible for more than 15% of ischemic strokes. Carotid F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (F-FDG PET) detects plaque inflammation. Plasma ICAM-1 and LRP1 concentrations have been associated with inflammation in ipsilateral carotid plaque.

The present study aimed at describing the outcome of patients with HIV-associated lymphomas following autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (autoHCT) in the rituximab and combined antiretroviral therapy (cART) era. Eligible for this retrospective study were HIV-positive patients with lymphoma who received autoHCT between 2007 and 2013. A total of 118 patients were included with a median age of 45 years (range 24-66).

Unlabelled: The aim of this randomized pilot study is to investigate the effects of a short training programme in loving-kindness and compassion meditation (LKM/CM) in patients with borderline personality disorder. Patients were allocated to LKM/CM or mindfulness continuation training (control group). Patients in the LKM/CM group showed greater changes in Acceptance compared with the control group.
