Primary aldosteronism, the most common curable form of secondary hypertension, is associated with greater hypertension-related organ damage and cardiovascular complications compared to primary essential hypertension. The authors present a case involving a 41-year-old Black male admitted to the emergency department with left hemiparesis and blurred vision persisting for one hour, accompanied by markedly elevated blood pressure (220/140 mmHg). The patient was asymptomatic by then, and, aside from a history of tobacco smoking and occasional cannabis use, lacked significant medical comorbidities.

Comprehensive Health Research Centre, CEDOC, Chronic Diseases Research Center, Immunology, NOVA Medical School, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Campo Dos Mártires da Pátria, 130, 1169-056, Lisbon, Portugal.

Sjögren's Syndrome (SjS) is a chronic systemic immune-mediated inflammatory disease characterized by lymphocytic infiltration and consequent lesion of exocrine glands. SjS diagnosis and classification remains a challenge, especially at SjS onset, when patients may have milder phenotypes of the disease or uncommon presentations. New biomarkers are needed for the classification of SjS, thus, we aimed to evaluate the added-value of lymphocyte subpopulations in discriminating SjS and non-Sjögren Sicca patients.

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic and recurrent inflammatory dermatosis characterized by the presence of inflammatory nodules and abscesses in the apocrine gland-rich areas that may progress to suppurative fistulas and scars. Despite being considered one of the dermatological conditions with the greatest impact on patient quality of life, it is often underdiagnosed. Hidradenitis suppurativa, especially in its severe forms, is associated with numerous comorbidities, so a holistic and multidisciplinary perspective is crucial for the management of these patients.
