Purpose: To characterize hearing thresholds at frequencies of 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hz in children undergoing reimplantation with a follow-up of at least 10 years.

Methods: Retrospective review of medical records of children who underwent reimplantation surgery for at least 10 years. The auditory thresholds obtained in free-field pure tone audiometry with the cochlear implant were evaluated at frequencies of 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hz at four different times: 1 (before failure), 2 (activation), 3 (five years after reimplantation) and 4 (ten years after reimplantation, regardless of the time of use of the 2nd CI) in patients with a follow-up of at least 10 years.

Hearing rehabilitation with Baha® transcutaneous and percutaneous systems.

Purpose: Longitudinally verify the influence of auditory tonal thresholds obtained with transcutaneous and percutaneous bone-anchored hearing aids on speech perception in individuals with external and/or middle ear malformation and chronic otitis media.

Methods: Observational, retrospective, longitudinal follow-up study of 30 unilateral users of the transcutaneous and percutaneous Baha® system for the collection of secondary data on pure tone thresholds obtained through free field audiometry and sentence recognition threshold in silence and noise in conditions: without the prosthesis; at the time of activation; in the first month of use (post 1); and in the third month (post 2).

Results: There was a significant difference between pure tone thresholds obtained at frequencies of 3 and 4kHz with better results for the percutaneous technique at all evaluation moments.

Purpose: To analyze hearing performance and expectations regarding the use of hearing aids (HA) by participants with minimal hearing loss.

Methods: This research is a primary, observational, longitudinal and prospective study. Two questionnaires, the Speech Spatial Qualities Questionnaire (SSQ) and the Expected Consequences of Hearing Aid Ownership (ECHO), were used, respectively, to verify hearing performance in complex listening situations and expectations regarding the use of HA.

Objective/design/setting: This retrospective study sought voluntary participation from leading cleft centres from Europe and Brazil regarding core outcome measures. Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of maxillomandibular advancement surgery in the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea by comparing the pre- and postoperative Apnea and Hypopnea Index, in addition to classifying the degree of evidence and risk of intervention bias.

Methods: A systematic review of the literature was carried out in the PUBMED, LILACS, EMBASE, SCOPUS, WEB OF SCIENCE and COCHRANE platforms, including cohort studies with polysomnographic follow-up, without other associated pharyngeal or nasal surgical procedures. Purpose: To describe data on hearing loss, systemic arterial hypertension and tinnitus of individuals, and to verify the association between self-reported systemic arterial hypertension and tinnitus, as well as to correlate other variables present in the sample: hearing loss and tinnitus, age and tinnitus and age and systemic arterial hypertension.

Methods: Quantitative, descriptive and inferential, retrospective research with data collection from 473 medical records of adults and elderly people treated between 2008 and 2018. Selected were information on age, gender, result of pure tone audiometry, tinnitus, tinnitus type and frequency, presence of SAH and use of medication to control the disease.

Purpose: To describe unilateral and bilateral asymmetric sensorineural hearing loss in children and its etiological, audiological and demographic characteristics.

Methods: Retrospective cross-sectional study developed in the Seção de Implante Coclear of Hospital de Reabilitação de Anomalias Craniofaciais, through the analysis of medical records.

Results: Data from 1152 patients were analyzed: 424 (37%) adolescents, adults or elderly, and 728 (63%) children, of whom 691 (95%) had bilateral symmetrical hearing loss, and 37 (5%) had unilateral hearing loss (n=10) or bilateral asymmetric (n=27) sensorineural hearing loss.

Objective: To demonstrate the surgical technique and audiological results of a middle ear implant for restoring hearing in patients with bilateral aural atresia and microtia with conductive or mixed hearing loss.

Materials And Methods: In this prospective study, 12 subjects aged 12 years and older presenting with hearing loss and bilateral congenital aural atresia underwent surgical insertion of a middle ear implant. The patients underwent tympanomastoidectomy with a wide opening of the attic and preservation of the roof of the atresic tympanic bone to expose the middle ear and position the floating mass transducer of the implant.
