Background: In Mexico less than half of the treated hypertensive patients reach blood pressure (BP) targets. Most hypertensive individuals rely on the standard medical care (SMC) to achieve the BP control goals; however, the efficacy of BP telemonitoring (BPT) to achieve BP targets has been poorly studied.

Aim: To compare the efficacy of BPT versus SMC to achieve BP goals in patients with uncontrolled hypertension.

BackgroundGiven the usefulness of the product of triglycerides and glucose (TyG) to recognize individuals at high risk for developing cardiovascular events, the aim of this study was to determine whether the TyG index is associated with the presence of cardiovascular risk factors in apparently healthy normal-weight children and adolescents.MethodsApparently healthy children and adolescents with normal weight, aged 6-15 years, were enrolled in a population-based cross-sectional study. The children were allocated into groups with and without cardiovascular risk factors.

Background: Among the diverse genes associated to type 2 diabetes (T2D), the β-adrenergic receptors are an excellent candidate to study in Mexican population. The objective of this work was to analyze the association of polymorphisms in ADRB1 (rs1801253) (Arg389Gly) and ADRB3 (Trp64Arg) genes with T2D and metabolic syndrome (MS).

Methods: We studied 445 MS patients, 502 with T2D and 552 healthy controls.

Several experimental developments in the last 20 years have hallmarked progress in understanding the cellular and molecular basis of the immune response to cancer. Identification of 30 tumor antigens associated from some expressed proteins in neoplastic cells are used as targets of immune response cells. Multiple studies have proved in vitro and in animal models that specific clones of lymphocytes T CD4+ and CD8+ recognize the tumoral immunogenic-oligopeptides and carry out the principal effecting phase in anti-tumor response.

The results reliability is a predominant condition in the validity of clinical research. The observer agreement determination is a useful procedure in the confirmation of the obtained results in clinical research. The present work is a presentation of the basis about observer agreement and a review of national publications in cardiology, pneumology and cardiothoracic surgery between january 1980 and july 1993, where we found just two publications with the application of observer agreement determination in echocardiography, electrocardiography, microscopy and hemodynamics.
