Background: Diabetes mellitus is one of the most serious public health problems in Mexico. The most worrying factor is the lack of control of it, which has a direct impact, causing severe damage to the health and quality of life of the patient and its family, as well as an economic burden to the health system. The development of a non-invasive method for measuring blood glucose would provide to patients a simple and painless way of monitoring and consequently better control of diabetes.

The appearance of a new coronavirus, which has caused the collapse of health systems around the world, has led to the emergence of numerous investigations looking for the ideal treatment and proper management of this new entity, since its control has become impossible and its cure an international necessity. To date, there are hundreds of articles and clinical trials to review. For this reason, in an attempt to facilitate the reader's knowledge of the new evidence and in summary form, the different therapies studied so far are presented in this article: their antiviral and adverse effects.

Background: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the gold standard in the management of symptomatic gallstone disease. Postoperative abdominal and shoulder-tip pain are the main adverse side effects.
Aim: To determine whether the low-pressure pneumoperitoneum (7 mmHg) decreases postoperative pain in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy compared with standard pressure pneumoperitoneum (12-15 mmHg).
