Introduction: Recent international consensus statements advocate for the integration of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) into the global undergraduate medical curriculum. Some medical schools outside Saudi Arabia have already incorporated PoCUS into their undergraduate curricula to enhance anatomy, physiology and pathology instruction. However, there are no data on the potential role of PoCUS in the preclinical training of medical students in Saudi Arabia.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the response to therapy and outcome with long-term daily mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) and high-dose alternate-day steroids (HADS) in children with dense deposit disease (DDD).

Methods: Children with DDD who received long-term MMF (1200 mg/m/day) and HADS (1.5-2 mg/kg AD) with slow tapering were retrospectively evaluated for their clinico-pathological presentation, response to therapy (complete, partial, no remission) and outcome (patient and renal survival).

Before the patient is discharged after hospitalization for ECOPD, it is crucial to offer an evidence-based care bundle protocol that will help minimize the future risk of readmissions and death.

The aims of this retrospective study were to (1) describe injury patterns and associated injuries of isolated, traumatic IBPIs, (2) evaluate the concordance of preoperative ultrasound and magnetic resonance neurography with surgical findings of patients who underwent surgical intervention for IBPIs, and (3) describe outcomes of surgical intervention for these injuries.

Pandemic potential of the Nipah virus and public health strategies adopted during outbreaks: Lessons from Kerala, India.

Kerala, a south Indian state witnessed several outbreaks of Nipah encephalitis since 2018, a zoonotic viral disease with significant pandemic potential. This review highlights the relevance of surveillance and health system preparedness, infection control, early diagnosis and treatment with broad-spectrum antivirals, environmental conservation, and community engagement in mitigating Nipah outbreaks. Additionally, it emphasises the importance of developing new biologicals and anti-viral drugs to combat the disease.

Burden on caregiver becomes an important determinant of recovery of SS. In this study, we aimed to analyze the determinants of burden on caregivers of SS who undergo DC.

Myocardial perfusion imaging in a case of cardiac strangulation: A novel approach to detect pacemaker-induced ischemia.

Cardiac strangulation is a rare phenomenon in children following epicardial pacemaker implantation, caused by compression of the heart and great vessels by the epicardial pacemaker wires. We report a rare case of cardiac strangulation presenting after 8 years of epicardial pacemaker implantation. On routine follow-up, computed tomography angiography showed significant extrinsic compression of the mid-left anterior descending (LAD) artery by the epicardial pacing wire.

A Rare Case of Lipoid Proteinosis in a Patient Presenting With Seizures: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Lipoid proteinosis is a rare genetic disorder affecting the skin, mucous membranes, and central nervous system. Here, we present the case of a 35-year-old female who presented with two episodes of seizures followed by loss of consciousness and injury to the nose. A CT scan and MRI of the brain revealed small symmetrical calcifications in the bilateral medial temporal lobes, a finding highly suggestive of lipoid proteinosis.

Extracapsluar lipohaemarthrosis: A case report and review of literature.
