Despite abundant scientific evidence supporting immunization benefits, vaccine hesitancy remains a significant global health concern, particularly during public health crises. Exploring public attitudes towards vaccination is crucial. This study aimed to develop and validate a tailored Public Vaccination Attitudes Scale specifically under the unique circumstances of a public health crisis.

Background And Purpose: The CardioSwitch-study demonstrated that patients with solid tumors who develop cardiotoxicity on capecitabine or 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) treatment can be safely switched to S-1, an alternative fluoropyrimidine (FP). In light of the European Medicines Agency approval of S-1 in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), this analysis provides more detailed safety and efficacy information, and data regarding metastasectomy and/or local ablative therapy (LAT), on the mCRC patients from the original study.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted at 12 European centers.

Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) is a useful modality to initially identify a molar pregnancy. In this case, we describe a 51-year-old perimenopausal woman who presented to the emergency department (ED) with vaginal bleeding. A transvaginal POCUS was performed, revealing findings concerning for a molar pregnancy.

Objective: To construct a deep learning-based target detection method to help radiologists perform rapid diagnosis of lesions in the CT images of patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) by restoring detailed information and mining local information.
Methods: We present a deep learning approach that integrates detail upsampling and attention guidance. A linear upsampling algorithm based on bicubic interpolation algorithm was adopted to improve the restoration of detailed information within feature maps during the upsampling phase.

Objective: This paper discusses the sterilization efficiency of three low temperature sterilization methods used in thermosensitive medical devices and makes a preliminary analysis of sterilization costs so as to provide the basis for reasonable selection of low temperature sterilizer in Central Sterile Supply Department.
Methods: Medical devices compatible with the three sterilization methods were selected for sterilization, and two packaging materials were selected for the three low-temperature sterilization equipment according to the compatibility of the packaging materials. The equipment packed with the same packaging materials were sterilized for five times, and each low-temperature sterilizer was sterilized for a total of ten times.

Objective: Unlike randomized controlled trials, practical real-world studies can offer important information about implementation of prehospital interventions, particularly in community settings where there may be reluctance to adopt new practices. We present the results of a natural experiment that was driven by mandated COVID-19 pandemic-driven shift from endotracheal intubation (ETI) to the i-gel supraglottic airway (SGA) as a primary advanced airway management device in the prehospital setting to reduce emergency medical services (EMS) personnel exposure to potentially infectious secretions. The objective was to compare first-pass success and timing to successful airway placement between ETI and the i-gel SGA under extenuating circumstances.

Objective: To assess the effectiveness and safety of ear moulds for congenital auricle deformities.
Methods: Databases including Medline, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Chinese BioMedical Literature Database (CBM) and Web of Science were systematically reviewed. Randomised controlled trials (RCT), non-randomised control trials (non-RCT), quasi-randomised control trials (quasi-RCT) and self-controlled before-after trials were also included.

CCCTC-binding factor (CTCF), a ubiquitously expressed and highly conserved protein, is known to play a critical role in chromatin structure. Post-translational modifications (PTMs) diversify the functions of protein to regulate numerous cellular processes. However, the effects of PTMs on the genome-wide binding of CTCF and the organization of three-dimensional (3D) chromatin structure have not been fully understood.

Background: Approximately 16%-89% of patients developed delirium during hospitalization in the intensive care unit (ICU). Studies on the accuracy and clinical application of ICU delirium screening tools exist, but the results are inconsistent. Moreover, the accuracy of different screening tools varied greatly.

Introduction: Shared decision making (SDM) has become a crucial element on the political agenda and represents a vital aspect of modern healthcare. However, successful implementation of SDM highly depends on the attitude of clinicians towards SDM. The overall aim of our study was to explore the experience of oncologists and nurses with SDM using the Decision Helper, an in-consultation decision aid, at four Danish radiotherapy departments.

Objective: Elective-emergency admission control referred to allocating available inpatient bed capacity between elective and emergency hospitalization demand. Existing approaches for admission control often excluded several complex factors when making decisions, such as uncertain bed capacity and unknown true probability distributions of patient arrivals and departures. We aimed to create a data-driven newsvendor framework to study the elective-emergency admission control problem to achieve bed operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Objective: Meningiomas are the most common primary brain tumors in adults and a subset are aggressive lesions resistant to standard therapies. Laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) has been successfully applied to other brain tumors, and recent work aims to explore the safety and long-term outcome experiences of LITT for both new and recurrent meningiomas. The authors' objective was to report safety and outcomes data of the largest cohort of LITT-treated meningioma patients to date.

Background And Objectives: Craniopharyngiomas originate from the pituitary stalk (PS) and extend along the pituitary-hypothalamic axis. Peripheral retroinfundibular craniopharyngiomas, particularly, may have worse surgery outcomes than other types. This study aims to investigate the advantage of using "one-and-a-half" interdural transcavernous pituitary transposition/rotation to dissect the tumor from the residual stalk and hypophyseal portal system for this subtype of craniopharyngioma.

Background: Allergic asthma is a type I allergic reaction mediated by serum Immunoglobulin E (IgE). B cell-mediated humoral immune response to allergens in the pathophysiology of allergic asthma have not been thoroughly elucidated. Peripheral helper T cells (Tph) and follicular helper T cells (Tfh) promote B cell differentiation and antibody production in inflamed tissues.

Pathophysiology of portal vein thrombosis (PVT) in cirrhosis is still not entirely understood. Elevated levels of lipopolysaccharides (LPS) in portal circulation are significantly associated with hypercoagulation, increased platelet activation and endothelial dysfunction. The aim of the study was to investigate if LPS was associated with reduced portal venous flow, the third component of Virchow's triad, and the underlying mechanism.
