Surgical approach combining implantoplasty and reconstructive therapy with locally delivered antibiotic in the treatment of peri-implantitis: A prospective clinical case series.

Background: Nonsurgical treatment, resective surgery, reconstructive surgery, or combined approaches have been proposed for the treatment of peri-implantitis, with variable results.

Purpose: To evaluate the 1-year clinical and radiographic outcomes following combined resective and reconstructive surgical treatment with topical piperacillin/tazobactam antibiotic in the management of peri-implantitis.

Material And Methods: Forty-three patients diagnosed with peri-implantitis were included.

[Neuroectodermic renal tumor. Case report and bibliographic review.].

We report the case of a 16 year old female who underwent left radical nephrectomy for a 13.2 cm neuroectodermic renal tumor and posterior chemo and radiotherapy in the Quiron Hospitals in Madrid and Complejo Hospitalario de Toledo, with a current survival of 14 months. Medical literature was reviewed for the historical, clinical, etiopathogenic, diagnostic, prognostic, therapeutic and survival features.

Intratissue Percutaneous Electrolysis vs Corticosteroid Infiltration for the Treatment of Plantar Fasciosis.

Background: Corticosteroid infiltration (CI) is commonly used for treatment of plantar fasciosis. In recent years, however, interest has grown in the use of intratissue percutaneous electrolysis (EPI) for the treatment of tendinopathies. The aim of our study was to compare the effectiveness of the above techniques in the treatment of plantar fasciosis.

Prognostic factors of weight loss after sleeve gastrectomy: Multi centre study in Spain and Portugal.

Introduction: Sleeve gastrectomy (SG) has become a technique in its own right although a selective or global indication remains controversial. The weight loss data at 5 years are heterogeneous. The aim of the study is to identify possible prognostic factors of insufficient weight loss after SG.

Unicystic Ameloblastoma: Rehabilitation with Chin Graft Harvested and Implant-Supported Fixed Prosthesis.

Objective: The objective is to present a clinical case of a 38-year-old male with a maxillary unicystic ameloblastoma treated by means of tumor block resection followed by chin-harvested graft placement in order to place two dental implants for esthetic and functional rehabilitation.

Methods: Ameloblastoma is a benign odontogenic tumor characterized by local aggression and a high rate of recurrence; the latter partly depends on how it is treated. Complete resection of the tumor, which usually prevents recurrence, produces bone defects of varying size that must be reconstructed later on.

Prognostic Factors for Morbimortality in Sleeve Gastrectomy. The Importance of the Learning Curve. A Spanish-Portuguese Multicenter Study.

Background: Complications in sleeve gastrectomy (SG) can cast a shadow over the technique's good results and compromise its safety. The aim of this study is to identify risk factors for complications, and especially those that can potentially be modified to improve safety.

Methods: A retrospective multicenter cohort study was carried out, involving the participation of 29 hospitals.

[Single port access surgery in colorectal disease: preliminary results].

Introduction: The aim of this study is to evaluate the single port access technique in colorectal disease, as regards its suitability to oncological criteria, reliability, safety and reproducibility of the technique. A descriptive and prospective case study is performed describing the preliminary results of our series.

Material And Methods: We present a series of 24 patients with colorectal disease who underwent single port access surgery using a Gel point® device between June and December 2010.
