Background: In recent years, the fasciae of the human body have received significant attention because of their crucial role in the transmission of muscle force. However, studies on the development of the fasciae, particularly the cervical fascia, remain scarce.
Purpose: This study was performed to examine the development of the fascia of the infrahyoid strap muscles, also known as the middle layer of the deep cervical fascia (MDCF), in 17 human embryos aged 6-8 weeks and 20 human foetuses aged 9-14 weeks.

Objective: To determine the frequency of uterine contrast agent intravasation during HyCoSy/HyFoSy for assessing tubal patency in infertile women.
Methods: Prospective observational multicenter study performed in nine European university hospitals, comprising a series of non-consecutive women who underwent HyFoSy (ExEm foam) for tubal patency assessment in the context of infertility between May 2016 and December 2022. All examinations were performed using the same scanning protocol.

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is characterized by a gradual deterioration of respiratory capacity, with worsening fatigue, weakness, activity intolerance, and dyspnea, influencing the person's emotional state and quality of life (QoL).
Objective: A network meta-analysis (NMA) was performed to determine the effects of different physical activity interventions on overall QoL in people with COPD, followed by a meta-analysis on the effect of these interventions on the different domains of the QoL scales.
Methods: A literature search was performed from inception to December 2023.

Introduction And Objective: Assessment of urethral stricture (US) management in a specific group of professionals, Urology Residents, in a specific region (Spain), seems to be important to determine the quality of the educational program and design educational interventions to improve it. We aim to investigate diagnosis and therapeutics practices among Urology Residents for the US management.
Materials And Methods: 20-question on-line survey was conducted among residents and junior consultants registered on the mailing list of residents and young urologists of the Spanish Association of Urology (RAEU) group of the educational period 2018-2023.

Background: Cannabis use and familial vulnerability to psychosis have been associated with social cognition deficits. This study examined the potential relationship between cannabis use and cognitive biases underlying social cognition and functioning in patients with first episode psychosis (FEP), their siblings, and controls.
Methods: We analyzed a sample of 543 participants with FEP, 203 siblings, and 1168 controls from the EU-GEI study using a correlational design.

Background: Although aerobic training leads to physiological improvements in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), measured by the VO2 peak, there is no evidence as to which type of physical exercise intervention is the most effective in improving the VO peak or max.
Objective: A network meta-analysis (NMA) was performed to determine the effects of different physical interventions on oxygen uptake in people with COPD.
Methods: A literature search was performed from database inception to February 2024.

Childhood adversity is associated with various clinical dimensions in psychosis; however, how genetic vulnerability shapes the adversity-associated psychopathological signature is yet to be studied. We studied data of 583 First Episode Psychosis (FEP) cases from the EU-GEI FEP case-control study, including Polygenic risk scores for major depressive disorder (MDD-PRS), bipolar disorder (BD-PRS) and schizophrenia (SZ-PRS); childhood adversity measured with the total score of the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ); and positive, negative, depressive and manic psychopathological domains from a factor model of transdiagnostic dimensions. Genes and environment interactions were explored as a departure from a multiplicative effect of PRSs and total CTQ on each dimension.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) vaccination has been available for over four decades. However, a synthesis of the evidence regarding the effectiveness of this strategy on preventing hepatitis B infection in people who use drugs (PWUD) is lacking. A systematic search of the MEDLINE (via PubMed), SCOPUS, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases was conducted up to June 2024.

Background: Ulcerative proctitis (UP) can have a milder, less aggressive course than left-sided colitis or extensive colitis. Therefore, immunosuppressants tend to be used less in patients with this condition. Evidence, however, is scarce because these patients are excluded from randomised controlled clinical trials.

Background: Heart diseases, particularly heart failure, significantly impact patient quality of life and mortality rates. Functional capacity assessment is vital for predicting prognosis and risk in these patients. While the cardiopulmonary exercise test is considered the gold standard, the 6-minute walk test has emerged as a more accessible alternative.

Background: We examined whether cannabis use contributes to the increased risk of psychotic disorder for non-western minorities in Europe.
Methods: We used data from the EU-GEI study (collected at sites in Spain, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands) on 825 first-episode patients and 1026 controls. We estimated the odds ratio (OR) of psychotic disorder for several groups of migrants compared with the local reference population, without and with adjustment for measures of cannabis use.

We present the case of a 29-year-old patient with multiple allergies, mild asthma and rhinoconjunctivitis who reported a history of esophageal impactions after ingestion of solid foods. These episodes resolved spontaneously at home and by self-induced vomiting and never required endoscopic removal. The patient presented to the emergency department due to a sensation of food impaction lasting more than 12 hours after eating meat the night before, which did not subside with the intake of liquids or self-induced vomiting.

: The ability to predict a long duration of mechanical ventilation (MV) by clinicians is very limited. We assessed the value of machine learning (ML) for early prediction of the duration of MV > 14 days in patients with moderate-to-severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). : This is a development, testing, and external validation study using data from 1173 patients on MV ≥ 3 days with moderate-to-severe ARDS.
