Polatuzumab vedotin plus obinutuzumab and lenalidomide in patients with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma: a cohort of a multicentre, single-arm, phase 1b/2 study.

Background: Obinutuzumab with polatuzumab vedotin or lenalidomide showed tolerability and activity in phase 1b/2 trials that recruited patients with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma. We aimed to examine whether the novel polatuzumab vedotin-obinutuzumab-lenalidomide (Pola-G-Len) combination might enhance antitumour response in patients with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma.

Methods: This multicentre, single-arm phase 1b/2 study tested Pola-G-Len in patients with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma, and polatuzumab vedotin in combination with rituximab and lenalidomide in patients with relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

Coronary artery fistulas after paediatric heart transplantation.

Coronary artery fistulas have been described in patients after heart transplantation more often than in the normal population. We reviewed our centre's database between 2008 and 2020. Thirty patients had coronary angiography and 13 showed non-cameral coronary artery fistulas in their first coronary angiography.

A Randomized Study of Nutritional Supplementation in Patients with Unilateral Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration.

The purpose of this study is evaluate the efficacy and safety of medicinal products containing the original Age-Related Eye Disease group (AREDS) formulation at doses approved in Europe (EU, control group; = 59) with a product that adds DHA, lutein, zeaxanthin, resveratrol and hydroxytyrosol to the formula (intervention group; = 50). This was a multicenter, randomized, observer-blinded trial conducted in patients aged 50 years or older diagnosed with unilateral exudative Age related Macular Degeneration AMD. At month 12, the intervention did not have a significant differential effect on visual acuity compared with the control group, with an estimated treatment difference in Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) of -1.

Prevalence of age-related macular degeneration among optometric telemedicine users in Spain: a retrospective nationwide population-based study.

Purpose: To evaluate the prevalence of AMD among optometric telemedicine users in Spain and to identify risk factors.

Methods: Retrospective analysis of a nationwide database conducted on subjects attending to optometry centers, between January 2013 and December 2019. Fundus photographs were performed by optometrists, using non-mydriatic cameras, and evaluated by a group of 12 retina specialists.

Spontaneous "Coronary Bypass" in a Paediatric Transplanted Heart.

We report an asymptomatic 5-year-old boy with coronary artery fistulas to pulmonary parenchyma and to systemic thoracic arteries, like a "natural bypass", detected during a coronary angiography performed 11 months after his heart transplant. One year later, a new coronary angiography showed no fistula. Some changes to immunosuppressive therapy during this time could be related to this evolution.

Psychotic disorders versus other psychiatric diagnoses in consultation-liaison psychiatry: 10 years of a single-center experience.

Introduction: The clinical management of patients with psychotic disorders (PDs) can be particularly complex if it takes place in the context of consultation-liaison psychiatry (CLP) services within a general hospital. However, there are few studies specifically investigating the acute treatment procedures for these patients in CLP settings.

Objectives: To examine the characteristics of a sample of inpatients with a primary PD referred to a CLP service over a 10-year period and to compare the clinical features of this subgroup with patients with other diagnoses (ODs).

Background: Revisional bariatric surgery (RBS) constitutes a possible solution for patients who experience an inadequate response following bariatric surgery or significant weight regain following an initial satisfactory response. This paper reports results from the first modified Delphi consensus-building exercise on RBS.

Background: Right bundle branch block is one of the most common electrocardiographic abnormalities. Most cases of right bundle branch block are detected in asymptomatic patients in primary care, so a correct interpretation of electrocardiograms (ECGs) at this level is necessary. The objective of this research is to determine the degree of concordance in the diagnosis of incomplete and complete right bundle branch block between four primary care researchers and a cardiologist.

A novel EPM2A mutation yields a slow progression form of Lafora disease.

Lafora disease (LD, OMIM 254780) is a rare disorder characterized by epilepsy and neurodegeneration leading patients to a vegetative state and death, usually within the first decade from the onset of the first symptoms. In the vast majority of cases LD is related to mutations in either the EPM2A gene (encoding the glucan phosphatase laforin) or the EPM2B gene (encoding the E3-ubiquitin ligase malin). In this work, we characterize the mutations present in the EPM2A gene in a patient displaying a slow progression form of the disease.

Successful use of cinacalcet to treat parathyroid-related hypercalcemia in two pediatric patients.

Unlabelled: Two pediatric patients with different causes of hyperparathyroidism are reported. First patient is a 13-year-old male with severe hypercalcemia due to left upper parathyroid gland adenoma. After successful surgery, calcium and phosphate levels normalized, but parathormone levels remained elevated.
