Tuberculous prostatitis is diagnosed incidentally, when the pathologist is studying a specimen of transurethral resection of the prostate or a prostatic biopsy. There is scant literature on the role of transrectal ultrasound in the diagnosis of this pathology. A case of tuberculous prostatitis is presented, with special reference to the transrectal ultrasound pattern.
