Stylet-driven leads have been recently introduced for conduction system pacing, while most of the previous experience has been obtained with lumenless leads. Design and structural characteristics of both lead types are significantly different, resulting in different implant techniques and independent learning curves. Lead performance appears to be comparable, whereas data on direct comparison of clinical outcomes are scarce.

The epidemiological survey is one of the key instruments, both in Public Health alerts or emergencies, and in epidemiological surveillance. Its main objective is to obtain information quickly, systematically, uniformly and easily. It is characterized by being dynamic and flexible, in addition to offering the relevant descriptive information of the epidemiological event studied: person, place and time .

The aim of this study was to evaluate long-term outcomes after switching from intravenous IFX (IV-IFX) to SC-IFX, the drug concentration thresholds for maintaining remission and other predictors for loss of response after the switch.
Methods: Multicenter observational study involving CD and UC patients who were in clinical remission for at least 24 weeks and scheduled to switch from IV-IFX to SC-IFX.

There is no international consensus on the definition of the type of oncological resection that corresponds to each of the colectomies existing in the current literature. The objective is to define for each colectomy described in the literature: embryological dissection plane, vascular pedicles in which to perform central ligation, the extent of the colectomy, and the need for resection of the greater momentum. A consensus of experts is carried out through the Delphi methodology through two rounds from the Coloproctology Section of the Spanish Association of Surgeons.

Background: Iadademstat is a potent, selective, oral inhibitor of both the enzymatic and scaffolding activities of the transcriptional repressor lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1; also known as KDM1A) that showed promising early activity and safety in a phase 1 trial and strong preclinical synergy with azacitidine in acute myeloid leukaemia cell lines. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the combination of iadademstat and azacitidine for the treatment of adult patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukaemia.
Methods: The open-label, phase 2a, dose-finding ALICE study was conducted at six hospitals in Spain and enrolled patients aged 18 years or older with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukaemia not eligible for intensive chemotherapy and an ECOG performance status of 0-2.

Notable treatment advances have been made in recent years for patients with myelodysplastic syndromes/neoplasms (MDS), and several new drugs are under development. For example, the emerging availability of oral MDS therapies holds the promise of improving patients' health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Within this rapidly evolving landscape, the inclusion of HRQoL and other patient-reported outcomes (PROs) is critical to inform the benefit/risk assessment of new therapies or to assess whether patients live longer and better, for what will likely remain a largely incurable disease.

Case Reports: We present three cases of pediatric patients with clinical signs of intestinal obstruction treated with subcutaneous heparin.

Introduction: The course in Primary Care in Pediatric Trauma (ATIP in Spanish) has been taught in Spain since 1997, and there are currently 9 accredited training centers. Care of polytraumatized pediatric patients often takes place in an environment conducive to errors resulting from forgetfulness, which is why checklists - mnemonic tools widely used in industry and medicine - are particularly useful to avoid such errors. Although several checklists exist for pediatric trauma care, none have been developed within the setting of our course.

Objectives: The efficacy of BIC/FTC/TAF in HIV late presenters initiating antiretroviral therapy (ART) has not been sufficiently evaluated.
Methods: The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness and tolerability of BIC/FTC/TAF compared to other first-line antiretroviral regimens in treatment-naïve adult individuals from the CoRIS Cohort starting ART with CD4 counts <200 cells/mm and/or AIDS-defining conditions between January 1st 2019 and November 30th 2020. Logistic regression models were used to estimate odds ratios (ORs) of association between initial regimen and achievement of viral suppression (VS) (primary objective), defined as HIV RNA <50 cop/mL, and immunological recovery (IR) (secondary objective), defined as CD4 count >200 cells/mm, at weeks 24 and 48 after initiation of ART.

Currently, one-year survival following liver transplantation (LT) exceeds 90% in large international registries, and LT is considered definitive treatment for patients with end-stage liver disease and liver cancer. Recurrence of disease, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), significantly hampers post-LT outcomes. An optimal approach to immunosuppression (IS), including safe weaning, may benefit patients by mitigating the effect on recurrent diseases, as well as reducing adverse events associated with over-/under-IS, including chronic kidney disease (CKD).

However, toxicities of these regimens are relevant, especially in older adults and elderly patients. The prospective multicenter BURKIMAB14 trial included four to six blocks of immunochemotherapy according to stage (localized: 1 and 2 non-bulky; advanced: 2 bulky, 3, 4) and age, with dose reduction in patients >55 years old.
