There is growing evidence about how physical activity can improve cancer care. Unfortunately, exercise is still not widely prescribed to oncology patients, despite the benefit it brings. For this to occur, it is necessary for a multidisciplinary approach involving different types of healthcare professionals, given that each treatment be tailored for each single case.

Objective: Functional assessment is part of geriatric assessment. How it is performed in hospital Emergency Departments (ED) is poorly understood, let alone its prognostic value. The aim of this paper was to investigate whether baseline disability to perform basic activities of daily living (BADL) was an independent prognostic factor for death after the index visit to the ED during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and whether it had a different impact on patients with and without diagnosis of COVID-19.

PAUSATE Study: Prevalence and appropriateness of the use of antimicrobials in Spanish hospitals.

Objective: To determine the prevalence and appropriateness of antimicrobial use in Spanish hospitals through a pharmacist-led systematic cross-sectional review.

Method: A nationwide multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted on  10% of the patients admitted to the participating hospitals on one day in April  2021. Hospital participation was voluntary, and the population was randomly  selected.

Objective: In the Canary Islands the prescriptions billed to the National Health System are registered in a database (FarmaCanarias). The main objective was to estimate the consumption of Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (IACE) and Memantine in Canary Islands and to compare with a Spanish sample from Pharmacoepidemiological Research Base in Primary Care (PRBPC) which is national in scope. The use of urinary osmolality to evaluate postoperative renal function in children with ureteropelvic junction obstruction.

Introduction: Split renal function measured in a diuretic renogram is the most popular tool in initial assessment and follow-up of patients with ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO). This study aims to evaluate the use of maximum urinary osmolality after desmopressin administration (DDAVP) to detect renal dysfunction.

Patients And Methods: 56 children (33 males, 23 females) diagnosed with UPJO underwent quantification of the maximum urinary osmolality (UOsm) at diagnosis.

[Unilateral renal agenesis. New arguments about the genetic relationship between kidney malformations and urolithiasis].

Background: In few previous works, it has been reported that hypercalciuria is associated with some types of CAKUT, namely ureteropelvic junction obstruction, vesicoureteral reflux or simple renal cysts. In addition, one higher prevalence of hypercalciuria and/or urolithiasis has been described in their family members compared to the general population. This study was carried out to find out whether children with unilateral renal agenesis (URA) have these features previously described in other CAKUT types.

[Laparoscopic extravesical ureteral reimplantation following Lich-Gregoire technique. Medium-term prospective study].

Objectives: To evaluate our results of Laparoscopic extravesical ureteral reimplantation according to Lich-Gregoire technique in the of vesicoureteral reflux treatment.

[Introducing a mixed nutritional screening tool (CIPA) in a tertiary hospital].

Introduction: Malnourishment in hospitalized patients is very prevalent and therefore it is important to implement screening methods. A mixed nutritional screening method (CIPA) has been developed at our center; this method includes four parameters: (a) control of intakes for 72 h; (b) BMI; (c) proteins; and (d) albumin.

Objectives: (1) To know the prevalence of malnourishment at the Internal Medicine Department of our Center; (2) To analyze the variables associated to higher prevalence of malnourishment.

[Isolated intracranial Rosai-Dorfman disease: a case report and literature review].

Introduction: Sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy, also known as Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD) is an idiopathic histiocytosis that usually affects the lymph nodes. Occasionally it may affect the CNS, being exceptional intracranial involvement without lymph node lesions. In the absence of typical radiological signs, affected patients are generally operated under the suspicion of a meningioma.

[Intraventricular meningioma: case report in infancy].

Meningiomas are infrequent tumours in infancy but when they appear in this age group, the intraventricular location is more frequent than in adults. We report the case of a 5-year-old girl with intracranial hypertension and a VI nerve palsy. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging of the brain revealed a tumoral lesion involving the right lateral ventricle with intense enhancement after contrast administration.

[Circadian variations in proinflammatory cytokine concentrations in acute myocardial infarction].

Introduction And Objectives: The concentration of certain proinflammatory cytokines has been found to be elevated in patients with acute coronary syndrome. Many studies have shown that coronary ischemic accidents do not show a uniform distribution throughout the day, but instead exhibit rhythmic variations. The objective of this study is to determine whether there is a circadian pattern of variation in the concentrations of proinflammatory cytokines in patients with acute myocardial infarction.
