Over 60% of relapsed/refractory (R/R) large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) patients who receive chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells will experience disease progression. There is no standard next line of therapy and information in this setting is scarce and heterogeneous. We analyzed 387 R/R LBCL patients who progressed after CAR T cells from July 2018 until March 2022 in Spain and the United Kingdom.

Half of the myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) have normal karyotype by conventional banding analysis. The percentage of true normal karyotype cases can be reduced by 20-30% with the complementary application of genomic microarrays. We here present a multicenter collaborative study of 163 MDS cases with a normal karyotype (≥10 metaphases) at diagnosis.

Background: Incisional hernia (HI), in open and laparoscopic surgery, is a very frequent complication. HI located in the umbilical region are called M3. The main aim of this study is to compare HI produced by the placement of an umbilical laparoscopic trocar (M3T) with those located in M3 in open surgery (M3O) in terms of basal characteristics, complications and recurrences; and secondarily the identification of risk factors.

Objective: To explore the glucagon-like peptide-1 analogue liraglutide in the hospital setting in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and acute coronary syndrome and to evaluate the safety and efficacy and its impact on hospitalization and short-term glycemic variability (GV).
Methods: A 12-week, open-label, prospective, randomized pilot clinical study with parallel groups that compared liraglutide (group 1) with glargine (group 2) and its impact on glycemic control and GV.
Results: Thirteen patients were included.

Glycemic variability (GV) has been recently described as an independent cardiovascular risk factor in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Also, new findings suggest that GV plays an important role in the development of complications related to impaired glucose metabolism and oxidative stress. On the other hand, although treatment for diabetes can reduce HbA1c in a similar extent their effectiveness over GV can be radically different.

Methods: Serum levels of OPG and DKK-1 were measured in 97 RA patients who were treated according to a treat-to-target strategy (T2T) aimed at remission (DAS28<2.6).

Spondylotic cervical mielopathy is a common complication in young patients with Cerebral Child Palsy with an important dystonic and athetoid component. Its surgical treatment is a challenge, due to elevate incidence of early faliure of the arthrodesis, both in anterior and posterior approaches. We report an historical review about the treatment of cervical mielopathy in this subgroup of patients and a clinical case in which we decided to realize decompression and arthtrodesis by a combined anterior and posterior approach, with lateral-mass screw placement, using botulinium toxin injections in the postoperative period, achieving a good clinical outcome.

Background: The role of loss has been carefully examined in the investigation of depression since it constitutes a central aspect of most of the life events that lead to depression.
Methods: In the present study, a review was made of the different studies on the role of loss, focusing on its different aspects and different types, the association between loss and some mental diseases, loss and prognosis, relationship between hopelessness and loss, variations of the events of loss based on different factors, also considering loss in the childhood.
Results: Loss constitutes a central role in the appearance of many depressive disorders.
Objectives: To assess the efficacy of intravenous analgesia with meperidine compared to periprostatic plexus infiltration with lidocaine, and safety of periprostatic local anesthesia.
Materials And Methods: A prospective randomized study with 100 patients undergoing first or second prostate biopsy. We distribute patients in two groups, group A (50 patients) which was administered 50 mg of intravenous meperidine and group B (50 patients) receiving 5 mL of lidocaine 2% in the angle between prostate and seminal vesicles.
Background: It was aimed to compare urine B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) according to left ventricular systolic dysfunction and to investigate its diagnostic value in heart failure (HF) patients.
Material And Methods: A total of 90 HF outpatients (61 men, age 66 +/- 12) and 30 age- and gender-matched controls were studied.
Results: An increase in urine BNP was observed in patients with EF= 40% compared to EF> 40% (p < 0.
Objective: To assess the quality of drug treatment process in a unit-dose and assisted electronic prescription system in a tertiary hospital, by looking at medication errors.
Methods: A prospective, observational study into medication errors was carried out on 308 hospitalised patients. This was done by assessing medical prescriptions, pharmaceutical validation, prepared and dispensed medication and by directly observing drug administration.
Benign hepatic lesions are rare and liver transplantation in these cases is exceptional. We present a review of the subject, commenting on the aspects that have been subsidiary to liver transplantation, of which are highlighted: adenomatosis, polycystosis and hepatic epithelioid haemangioendothelioma (although this process may be a low to intermediate malignant grade). We assessed specific epidemiological, aetiopathogenic, clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic and aspects of the lesions as well as indication for transplantation, and the experiences of different authors on these pathologies.

Background: Molecular analysis of minimal residual disease is only applicable in acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) patients with genetic markers (20-30%). This study analyzes the feasibility of the real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RQ-PCR) assay to detect mutant nucleophosmin (NPM1) during follow-up in AML patients. Moreover, we compare the NPM1 results with those of WT1 expression to MRD assessment.
