Introduction And Objectives: Corticosteroids are among the drugs demonstrating a mortality benefit for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The RECOVERY trial highlighted that dexamethasone reduced 28-day mortality for hospitalized COVID-19 patients requiring either supplemental oxygen or mechanical ventilation. It is noted that approximately 30% of COVID-19 patients, initially presenting with mild symptoms, will advance to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), especially those with detectable laboratory markers of inflammation indicative of disease progression.

Detecting the association of genetic variants to the response of biological therapy represents an important advance in developing a personalized therapy. The aim of this work was to study the association of polymorphisms with an optimal response to tildrakizumab in patients with psoriasis in a real-life clinical practice. Ninety patients with plaque psoriasis recruited from-Spanish hospitals receiving tildrakizumab for at least 24 weeks were genotyped for 180 polymorphisms.

It is known that SARS-CoV-2 can translocate via membrane ACE2 exopeptidase into the host cells, and thus hypomethylation of ACE2 possibly upregulates its expression, enhancing the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. This study investigated if DNA methylation levels of the ACE2 promoter are associated with the development of post-COVID-19 symptomatology in a cohort of COVID-19 survivors who had been previously hospitalized. Non-stimulated saliva samples were obtained from 279 (51.

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) of non-inherited etiology is one of the main causes of renal replacement therapy in our setting. Previous studies in other territories suggest that hereditary diseases could be one of the potential causes of this pathology, especially in younger patients. The GENSEN study will evaluate the presence of pathogenic genetic variants in subjects who have developed CKD category G5 before the age of 46 years, of non-inherited etiology.

Introduction: Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) are effective for glycemic control, with many also demonstrating cardiovascular (CV) benefit, in people with type 2 diabetes (T2D). This study aimed to find a consensus on the barriers and strategies for the optimal use of GLP-1 RAs in people with T2D and high CV risk or established cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Spain.
Methods: A two-round Delphi survey (53 questions) was conducted among members of four national scientific societies in Spain, including physicians experienced in the management of people with T2D.

In the SintraREV trial, we aimed to investigate whether an early intervention of low lenalidomide doses for 2 years could delay transfusion dependency in patients with anaemia who were not transfusion dependent.
Methods: This randomised, double-blind, phase 3 trial, was conducted at 22 sites (University Hospitals) in Spain, France, and Germany.
