Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of switching to once-weekly subcutaneous semaglutide in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who were previously treated with other glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) in a real-world setting in Spain.

Methods: The REAL Life study of SEMaglutide in Patients with Type 2 diabetes in Spain (REALSEM-SP) was conducted in four endocrinology departments in Madrid, Spain. Adult patients with T2DM who were prescribed once-weekly (OW) subcutaneous semaglutide and had been previously treated with other GLP-1 RAs were included.

Osteoporosis represents a public health problem that can be prevented and treated early through health education. Over time, screening techniques, diagnosis and treatments even conservative and surgical, have improved. Through this publication we want to highlight the importance of the medical and orthopaedic management of these fractures, describing the benefit of diet and physical exercise as the protagonists of conservative treatment but above all its indications and contraindications, emphasising the limitations of exercise in a vertebral osteoporotic fracture.

Marfan and Weill-Marchesani syndromes have a mutation of the fibrillin gene (FBN1), producing alteration of connective tissue, within ophthalmology, it is important to take into consideration this type of diseases in cogenetic alterations in this system will produce modifications at the level of the ocular structures generating problems of various types, Most of the literature refers to ectopia lentis and the complications derived from it, as secondary glaucoma. We present two patients, one with Marfan syndrome and the other with Weill-Marchesani syndrome, who developed lens dislocation, typical of their pathologies, which led them to undergo different surgeries. Both developed suture dehiscence after these surgeries, as a complication derived from their connective tissue involvement.
