To examine the corpus callosum's (CC) integrity in terms of fractional anisotropy (FA) and how it affects resting-state hemispheric connectivity (rs-IHC) and cognitive function in healthy individuals. Sixty-eight healthy individuals were recruited for the study. The global FA (gFA) and FA values of each CC tract (forceps minor, body, tapetum, and forceps major) were evaluated using diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) sequences.

Background: Complications under anticoagulant treatment in patients with COVID-19-associated venous thromboembolism (VTE) have not been consistently reported.
Objectives: This study aimed to compare the 90-day rates of VTE recurrences and major bleeding in patients with COVID-19-associated VTE versus those with VTE without COVID-19.
Methods: We used the RIETE registry to compare the 3-month outcomes in patients with COVID-19-associated VTE versus those with VTE without COVID-19.

Introduction: Pre-eclampsia affects 2%-8% of pregnancies and is one of the leading causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. First-trimester screening using an algorithm that combines maternal characteristics, mean arterial blood pressure, uterine artery pulsatility index and biomarkers (pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A and placental growth factor) is the method that achieves a greater diagnostic accuracy. It has been shown that daily salicylic acid administration before 16 weeks in women at a high risk for pre-eclampsia can reduce the incidence of preterm pre-eclampsia.

Introduction: On 4 and 5 November 2022, Madrid hosted the 15th edition of the Post-ECTRIMS Meeting, where neurologists specialised in multiple sclerosis outlined the latest developments presented at the 2022 ECTRIMS Congress, held in Amsterdam from 26 to 28 October.
Aim: To synthesise the content presented at the 15th edition of the Post-ECTRIMS Meeting, in an article broken down into two parts.
Development: This second part describes the new developments in terms of therapeutic strategies for escalation and de-escalation of disease-modifying therapies (DMT), when and in whom to initiate or switch to highly effective DMT, the definition of therapeutic failure, the possibility of treating radiologically isolated syndrome and the future of personalised treatment and precision medicine.
Introduction: On 4 and 5 November 2022, Madrid hosted the 15th edition of the Post-ECTRIMS Meeting, where neurologists specialised in multiple sclerosis (MS) outlined the most relevant novelties presented at the 2022 ECTRIMS Congress, held in Amsterdam from 26 to 28 October.
Aim: To synthesise the content presented at the 15th edition of the Post-ECTRIMS Meeting, in an article broken down into two parts.
Development: In this first part, the initial events involved in the onset of MS, the role played by lymphocytes and the migration of immune system cells into the central nervous system are presented.

Background: Stenosis is one of the most common complications in patients with Crohn's disease (CD). Endoscopic balloon dilation (EBD) is the treatment of choice for a short stenosis adjacent to the anastomosis from previous surgery. Self-expandable metal stents (SEMS) may be a suitable treatment option for longer stenoses.

Aging biology entails a cell/tissue deregulated metabolism that affects all levels of biological organization. Therefore, the application of "omic" techniques that are closer to phenotype, such as metabolomics, to the study of the aging process should be a turning point in the definition of cellular processes involved. The main objective of the present study was to describe the changes in plasma metabolome associated with biological aging and the role of sex in the metabolic regulation during aging.

Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) are inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) resulting from the interaction of multiple environmental, genetic and immunological factors. and are paralogs encoding lymphocyte co-receptors involved in fine-tuning intracellular signals delivered upon antigen-specific recognition, microbial pattern recognition and cell adhesion. While and expression and variation is known to influence some immune-mediated inflammatory disorders, their role in IBD remains unclear.
