Introduction: Person-centred care (PCC) emphasises the need for the health care professional to prioritise individual patient needs, thereby fostering a collaborative and emphatic environment that empowers patients to actively participate in their own care. This article will explore the purpose of PCC in Nuclear Medicine (NM), while discussing strategies that may be used to implement PCC during diagnostic NM examinations performed on adult patients.

Purpose: To relate the prostate volume category (PVC) assessed with digital rectal examination (DRE)-small, median, and large-and the prostate volumes (PVs) assessed with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and transrectal ultrasound (TRUS). To compare the clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) discrimination ability of two predictive models based on DRE-PVC and MRI-PV.
Materials And Methods: A prospective trial of 2,090 men with prostate-specific antigen >3 ng/mL and/or PCa suspicious DRE were prospectively recruited in 10 centers from Catalonia (Spain), between 2021 and 2022, in whom DRE-PVC was assessed.

Background: We aimed to evaluate the performance of a novel multiplex serological assay, able to simultaneously detect IgG of six infections, as a screening tool for imported diseases in migrants.
Methods: Six panels of 40 (n = 240) anonymized serum samples with confirmed infections were used as positive controls to assess the multiplex assay's sensitivity. One panel of 40 sera from non-infected subjects was used to estimate the seropositivity cutoffs, and 32 non-infected sera were used as negative controls to estimate each serology's sensitivity and specificity.

Introduction: Malaria is one of the most prevalent infectious diseases in sub-Saharan Africa, with 247 million cases reported worldwide in 2021 according to the World Health Organization. Optical microscopy remains the gold standard technique for malaria diagnosis, however, it requires expertise, is time-consuming and difficult to reproduce. Therefore, new diagnostic techniques based on digital image analysis using artificial intelligence tools can improve diagnosis and help automate it.

Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a rare chronic inflammatory skin disease that can lead to life-threatening complications and require emergency medical treatment. Recurrent GPP flares are characterized by the sudden onset of widespread erythematous skin rash with sterile pustules, at times associated with fever, chills, general malaise, and other systemic inflammatory manifestations. Systemic complications such as cardiorespiratory failure, infections, and sepsis are potentially life-threatening and can result in an emergency department visit and/or hospitalization.

Treatment failure occurs in about 25% of patients with methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) bacteremia. We assessed whether cloxacillin plus fosfomycin achieves better treatment success than cloxacillin alone in hospitalized adults with MSSA bacteremia. We conducted a multicenter, open-label, phase III-IV superiority randomized clinical trial.

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the hair follicle with a high level of morbidity. Pilonidal sinus disease is a comorbid disorder and may be the reason for first contact with the healthcare system of patients with hidradenitis suppurativa. The aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency of association of pilonidal sinus disease and hidradenitis suppurativa and to explore whether pilonidal sinus disease defines a different clinical profile for patients with hidradenitis suppurativa.

The primary objective of this study was to analyse the current accuracy of targeted and systematic prostate biopsies in detecting csPCa. A secondary objective was to determine whether there are factors predicting the finding of csPCa in targeted biopsies and, if so, to explore the utility of a predictive model for csPCa detection only in targeted biopsies. We analysed 2122 men with suspected PCa, serum PSA > 3 ng/mL, and/or a suspicious digital rectal examination (DRE), who underwent targeted and systematic biopsies between 2021 and 2022.
