Ventral Onlay Buccal Mucosa Graft Urethroplasty for Female Urethral Stricture: Medium-term Results in a Single Surgeon Experience.

Objective: To describe our own approach using buccal mucosal grafting and to assess the outcome of this approach.

Materials And Methods: A total of 42 patients underwent ventral onlay BMG by a single surgeon between 2017 and 2022. A longitudinal incision along the length of the urethra was made through the anterior vaginal wall and the periurethral fascia was incised to create 2 flaps.

Guidance for assessment of the inflammation etiologic criterion for the GLIM diagnosis of malnutrition: A modified Delphi approach.

Background & Aims: The Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) approach to malnutrition diagnosis is based on assessment of three phenotypic (weight loss, low body mass index, and reduced skeletal muscle mass) and two etiologic (reduced food intake/assimilation and disease burden/inflammation) criteria, with diagnosis confirmed by fulfillment of any combination of at least one phenotypic and at least one etiologic criterion. The original GLIM description provided limited guidance regarding assessment of inflammation and this has been a factor impeding further implementation of the GLIM criteria. We now seek to provide practical guidance for assessment of inflammation in support of the etiologic criterion for inflammation.

High-resolution and quantitative spatial analysis reveal intra-ductal phenotypic and functional diversification in pancreatic cancer.

A 'classical' and a 'basal-like' subtype of pancreatic cancer have been reported, with differential expression of GATA6 and different dosages of mutant KRAS. We established in situ detection of KRAS point mutations and mRNA panels for the consensus subtypes aiming to project these findings to paraffin-embedded clinical tumour samples for spatial quantitative analysis. We unveiled that, next to inter-patient and intra-patient inter-ductal heterogeneity, intraductal spatial phenotypes exist with anti-correlating expression levels of GATA6 and KRAS .

Unravelling Peritoneal Carcinomatosis Using Cross-Sectional Imaging Modalities.

Peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC) refers to malignant epithelial cells that spread to the peritoneum, principally from abdominal malignancies. Until recently, PC prognosis has been considered ill-fated, with palliative therapies serving as the only treatment option. New locoregional treatments are changing the outcome of PC, and imaging modalities have a critical role in early diagnosis and disease staging, determining treatment decision making strategies.
