Objective: To evaluate the impact of extensive vaginal pelvic reconstruction surgery (PRS) on advanced pelvic organ prolapse (POP) patients with bladder outlet obstruction (BOO).
Methods: We conducted a single-center, retrospective analysis of women who received extensive vaginal pelvic reconstruction surgery for advanced POP (POP-Q ≥3) with BOO from January 2006 to January 2016. Data regarding preoperative evaluation, surgical procedure, and postoperative management were abstracted from medical records.

Purpose: Patients with anorectal malformation (ARM) and Hirschsprung's disease (HD) live with long-term impact of these diseases even into adulthood. We aimed to explore the physical, social and emotional impact of these diseases in adolescents and young adults to develop best practices for transition care.
Methods: We conducted one-on-one in-depth interviews with ARM and HD patients aged ≥ 11 years who had undergone surgery at four tertiary referral centers.

This study was conducted to evaluate the parental perceptions toward effects of COVID-19 infection to children with cancer, determine their stress level and factors contributing to high stress level during the pandemic.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in three paediatric oncology centres in Malaysia from September 2020 until December 2022.

Purpose: Children with anorectal malformation (ARM) and Hirschsprung's disease (HD) often experience bowel symptoms into adulthood, despite definitive surgery. This study evaluates the quality of life (QOL) and bowel functional outcome of children treated for ARM and HD in comparison to healthy controls.
Methods: Between December 2020 and February 2023, we recruited patients with ARM and HD aged 3-17 years at four tertiary referral centres, who had primary corrective surgery done >12 months prior.

Objective: Mutational analysis of BCR::ABL1 kinase domain (KD) is a crucial component of clinical decision algorithms for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients with failure or warning responses to tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy. This study aimed to detect BCR::ABL1 KD mutations in CML patients with treatment resistance and assess the concordance between NGS (next generation sequencing) and Sanger sequencing (SS) in detecting these mutations.
Results: In total, 12 different BCR::ABL1 KD mutations were identified by SS in 22.

Despite having equal rights to education, children with neurodisability (CWND) continue to face a myriad of barriers to education. This cross-sectional survey aimed to investigate the barriers to education among CWND who attended follow-up at a Malaysian tertiary hospital. Sixty-two caregivers of CWND completed a questionnaire which included the 'Washington Group/United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Child Functioning Module', type of schooling and open-ended questions for barriers to education.

Methods: An advisory board meeting was conducted with experts in haemophilia care from Asia to understand the heterogeneity in clinical practices and care provision in the region.
Findings: The overall prevalence of haemophilia in Asia ranges between 3 and 8.

This study aimed to develop and assess the efficacy of e-Hematological Oncology Parents Education (e-HOPE), an online caregiver education resource in Malay, designed to enhance the knowledge of parents with children diagnosed with leukemia or lymphoma in Malaysia.
Methods: A user profile and topic list were established based on previous needs analysis studies.

This systematic literature review (SLR) and meta-analysis assessed the efficacy and safety of pimecrolimus vs other topical treatments in patients with mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis (AD), focusing on children and sensitive skin areas. An SLR was conducted in MEDLINE, Embase and Cochrane Library databases on January 15th, 2020, to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with pimecrolimus as a study arm. Another SLR performed on October 5th, 2020 identified RCTs with a crisaborole study arm.

Background: Assessment of postoperative bowel function in anorectal malformation (ARM) patients is crucial for benchmarking outcomes. We compared existing bowel function scoring systems in various aspects in patients with ARM.
Methods: With ethical approval, this was a cross-sectional study involving 5 paediatric surgery referral centres in Malaysia, comparing the Kelly, Japanese Study Group of Anorectal Anomalies (JSGA), Holschneider and Krickenbeck bowel function questionnaires.

Methods: Patients with unexplained pediatric-onset epilepsy were identified from the in-house Severance Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Epilepsy Database. All patients underwent either exome sequencing or multigene panels from January 2017 to December 2019, at Severance Children's Hospital in Korea.

Methods: This is a retrospective case series of 53 months follow-up of 123 consecutive patients who underwent UPHOLD-LITE system.
