BACKGROUND Recently, the albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR) has been suggested as a valuable biomarker for adverse events in acute myocardial infarction. However, the prognostic value of ACR in very elderly patients (≥80 years) with non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) remains unclear. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 354 very elderly patients with NSTE-ACS who underwent PCI were included in this study and followed up for 1 year.

Background: Accumulating evidences suggest that low-grade inflammatory response plays a key role in the pathophysiology of coronary slow flow phenomenon (CSFP). As a new hematological inflammatory indicator, the neutrophil percentage to albumin ratio (NPAR) and its role in the occurrence and development of CSFP remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to investigate the predictive value of NPAR in the presence of CSFP in patients with myocardial ischemia and no obstructive coronary arteries (INOCA).

Background: Previous studies have suggested that triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI) is associated with cardiovascular mortality in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis. However, the predictive value of TyG-BMI in the prognosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) remains unclear.
Methods: In total, 408 AMI patients who underwent PCI were consecutively included in this study.

Background: Since RNA sequencing has shown that induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) share a common antigen profile with tumor cells, cancer vaccines that focus on iPSCs have made promising progress in recent years. Previously, we showed that iPSCs derived from leukemic cells of patients with primary T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) have a gene expression profile similar to that of T-ALL cell lines.
Methods: Mice with T-ALL were treated with dendritic and T (DC-T) cells loaded with intact and complete antigens from T-ALL-derived iPSCs (T-ALL-iPSCs).

Background: Recently, the triglyceride glucose (TyG) index has emerged as a reliable predictive indicator for adverse outcomes of cardiovascular disease. However, the roles of the TyG index in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)≤1.8 mmol/L after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) remain unclear.

Background: The triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI index) has been suggested as a novel predictor of insulin resistance. However, its predictive value for slow coronary flow phenomenon (SCFP) in patients with ischemia and nonobstructive coronary arteries (INOCA) remains unclear.
Methods: We consecutively recruited 1625 patients with INOCA from February 2019 to February 2023 and divided them into two groups based on thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) frame counts (TFCs): the SCFP group (n = 79) and the control group.

Background: Prior studies have suggested that the chronic inflammatory response has an important role in the pathophysiology of slow coronary flow phenomenon (SCFP). However, data are scarce regarding the role of plasma fibrinogen-to-albumin ratio (PFAR) in patients having SCFP without obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD). In this study, we investigated the relationship between PFAR and the presence of SCFP in patients without obstructive CAD.

Background: Previous studies have indicated that the soluble suppression of tumorigenicity 2 protein (sST2) is associated with new-onset atrial fibrillation (NOAF) in patients diagnosed with coronary artery disease (CAD). However, the predictive value of sST2 in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has not been well studied.
Methods: A total of 580 patients with STEMI undergoing primary PCI were consecutively recruited between January 2021 and January 2023.

Background: Retrograde guidewire (GW) tracking success via a poor septal collateral channel (CC) when an antegrade approach fails is crucial for successful revascularization of coronary chronic total occlusion (CTO) with poor septal CC. However, the incidence, predictors, and management strategies for retrograde GW tracking failure via poor septal CC remain unclear.
Methods: In total, 122 CTO patients who underwent retrograde septal percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with poor CC between January 2017 and May 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.

Background: Percutaneous coronary intervention for in-stent restenosis (ISR) chronic total occlusion (CTO) has been a great challenge. There are occasions when the balloon is uncrossable or undilatable (BUs) even though the guidewire has passed, leading to failure of the procedure. Few studies have focused on the incidence, predictors, and management of BUs during ISR-CTO intervention.

Background: Periprocedural myocardial injury (PMI) is associated with major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). However, the incidence predictors and prognosis of PMI in chronic total occlusion (CTO) undergoing PCI remains unclear.
Method: To evaluate the predictors and prognostic impact of PMI following PCI in patients with CTO.

Background: We evaluated the cost-effectiveness of the screening in mainland China for Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients aged over 60.
Methods: Individuals in mainland China, received an initial screening by questionnaire on mental state, and those with scores deemed suspicious for AD were referred to diagnostic tests. A 9-state Markov model was developed to simulate the disease progression of a cohort of 100,000 subjects aging from 60 to 80.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of the colorectal cancer screening in China, and that when the screening was implemented in a specific region.
Methods: A 13-state Markov model was established to compare four screening protocols, including annual fecal immunochemical testing (FIT1), biennial fecal immunochemical testing (FIT2), electronic colonoscopy every 10 years (e-CSPY10), and electronic colonoscopy every 5 years (e-CSPY5), with no screening from the perspective of Chinese healthcare system. The model simulated the health states of a cohort of 100,000 average-risk individuals aging from 50 to 75.
Background: Sinus lift via the alveolar crest approach has been proven to solve inadequate alveolar bone height perfectly in the posterior region of the maxilla. Nevertheless, the surgical area cannot be directly observed, imaging methods are necessary to reveal whether the surgery has achieved the expected results. Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) images are usually taken before surgery and at the completion of final pre-repair osseointegration and evaluate the effect of maxillary sinus lift by measuring the alveolar bone height in the bone graft area.

After extracting the concrescence, the fistula on #17 gradually disappeared. In addition, we analyzed the histological etiology and clinical diagnosis and treatment of concrescence from the sight of periodontal functional stimulation.

Introduction: In the post-pandemic period of COVID-19, the majority of cities in China try to balance the normalization of epidemic prevention and social-economic development. However, the appearance of asymptomatic infected patients poses threats to public health, which might be infectious without clinical symptoms and only be detected by testing approaches.
Methods: Along with the appearance of one symptomatic case, a regional large-scale screening program was carried out in Shenzhen City charged by a regionally integrated healthcare system.

In China, most cities have gradually controlled the spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and brought coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) under control locally. This means that crucial work has shifted from internal management of the pandemic to external prevention and control, especially management of international travelers and imported goods. There is much uncertainty about variants of concern for SARS-CoV-2, which pose challenges to the steady resumption of social and economic life once the mutant strains begin to spread.

In vertebrates, 5'-Hoxd genes (Hoxd9), which are expressed in the hindlimb bud mesenchyme, participate in limb growth and patterning in early embryonic development. In the present study, We investigated the mechanisms by which ATRA regulates cultured E12.5 rat embryo hindlimb bud mesenchymal cells (rEHBMCs).
