Background: The GENEVIEVE study, comparing neoadjuvant cabazitaxel versus paclitaxel in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and luminal B/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative breast cancer (BC), previously reported significant differences in pathological complete response (pCR) rates. Effects on long-term outcome are unknown.
Patients And Methods: GENEVIEVE randomized patients with cT2-3, any cN or cT1, cN+/pN+, centrally confirmed TNBC or luminal B/HER2-negative BC (latter defined as estrogen/progesterone receptor-positive and >14% Ki-67-stained cells) to receive either cabazitaxel 25 mg/m q3w for four cycles or paclitaxel 80 mg/m weekly for 12 weeks.

Schwannomas are not uncommon in the maxillofacial region; however, those with intraoral localization and, in particular, the hard palate are among the least frequently described. In the current case report, we present a 17-year-old girl with a histologically verified schwannoma of the hard palate on the right, originating from the right greater palatine nerve. In her case, despite the lysis of the palatine bone from the tumor compression, the disease is asymptomatic, causing only a weak sensation of local discomfort.

Cushing's syndrome is a rare disease that has a different primary etiology, most often due to chronic hypercortisolism. In addition to the defined causes, in contrast to the general population, the observed etiology in pregnant women is a benign adrenocortical adenoma, less often bilateral hyperplasia of the adrenal glands of hypothalamic-pituitary origin or Cushing's disease, and malignant adrenal root adenoma. In this study, we present the case of a 41-year-old pregnant woman experiencing her first pregnancy.

Background: Vitamin A plays a key role in lung development, but there is no consensus regarding the optimal vitamin A dose and administration route in extremely low birthweight (ELBW) infants. We aimed to assess whether early postnatal additional high-dose fat-soluble enteral vitamin A supplementation versus placebo would lower the rate of moderate or severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia or death in ELBW infants receiving recommended basic enteral vitamin A supplementation.
Methods: This prospective, multicentre, randomised, parallel-group, double-blind, placebo-controlled, investigator-initiated phase 3 trial conducted at 29 neonatal intensive care units in Austria and Germany assessed early high-dose enteral vitamin A supplementation (5000 international units [IU]/kg per day) or placebo (peanut oil) for 28 days in ELBW infants.

Background: Knowing whether shift work negatively affects the immune system's response to COVID-19 vaccinations could be valuable for planning future vaccination campaigns for healthcare workers. We aimed to determine the impact of working late or night shifts on serum anti-SARS-CoV-2 spike protein immunoglobulin G (anti-S) antibody levels after primary SARS-CoV-2-mRNA vaccination.
Methods: To obtain detailed information on shift work, we sent a separate online questionnaire to 1475 eligible healthcare workers who participated in a prospective longitudinal study conducted in 15 healthcare institutions in Switzerland.

Effective management of chronic kidney disease (CKD), a major health problem worldwide, requires accurate and timely diagnosis, prognosis of progression, assessment of therapeutic efficacy, and, ideally, prediction of drug response. Multiple biomarkers and algorithms for evaluating specific aspects of CKD have been proposed in the literature, many of which are based on a small number of samples. Based on the evidence presented in relevant studies, a comprehensive overview of the different biomarkers applicable for clinical implementation is lacking.

The lacrimal gland is crucial for maintaining ocular health by producing the aqueous component of the tear film, which hydrates and nourishes the ocular surface. Decreased production of this component results in dry eye disease, a condition affecting over 250 million people worldwide. However, the scarcity of primary human material for studying its underlying mechanisms and the absence of a cell model for human lacrimal gland epithelial cells present significant challenges.

Purpose: When planning and delivering total knee arthroplasty (TKA), there are multiple coronal alignment strategies such as functional alignment (FA), kinematic alignment (KA), mechanical and adjusted mechanical alignment (MA, aMA). Recent three-dimensional and robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) studies have demonstrated that KA potentially better restores the trochlear anatomy than MA. The purpose of this study was to compare the restoration of the native trochlear orientation in patients undergoing RAS TKA using four different alignment strategies.
