[Neonatal screening for critical congenital heart diseases in Peru: an urgent call].

Congenital heart diseases are the most common congenital malformations worldwide and represent one of the leading causes of neonatal death, in addition to the significant use of human and financial resources by health systems. The purpose of this document is to support the implementation of neonatal screening for critical congenital heart diseases using pulse oximetry according to the different geographical altitudes of Peru. This technology is widely used worldwide and has high sensitivity, specificity, and cost-effectiveness.

Preservación de la fertilidad en una paciente con teratoma bilateral. Reporte de un caso y revisión de la literatura.

Los tumores de células germinales son una variante de los tumores ováricos, siendo el teratoma el más frecuente. Del total de los tumores ováricos diagnosticados, el 12% se encontrarán en pacientes en edad fértil. Se presenta el caso de una paciente de 22 años que acude a consulta con un diagnóstico presuntivo de teratoma bilateral en búsqueda de alternativas terapéuticas, ya que se le planteó originalmente ooforectomía bilateral.

[Adnexal torsion: three cases].

Adnexal torsion is a gynecological emergency caused by the torsion of the ovary over its pedicle producing lymphatic and venous stasis, later it develops into ischemia and necrosis, when is not treated. Until recently, the treatment for adnexal torsion has been adnexectomy. This paper report three cases treated successfully with conservative treatment.

[Treatment of patients with endometriosis and infertility].

Background: The Word Endometriosis Society estimates that 176 millions of women in the world have experienced endometriosis symptoms way before their quality of life has been compromised. Despite the advances, endometriosis continues to be a challenge for doctors nowadays.

Objective: The purpose of this article is to make an attempt to unify the foundations and theories worldwide accepted on endometriosis infertility treatment.
