Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the posterior tibial translation after ultracongruent (UC) and posterior-stabilized (PS) total knee arthroplasty (TKA) with two different UC with different heights in the anterior lip, and two different PS designs. This study also aimed to compare the range of motion (ROM) and outcomes scores after the use of these TKA models. It was hypothesised less posterior tibial translation after PS than after UC TKA, and less posterior tibial translation with a higher anterior lip in the UC insert than with a lower one.

Mapping IPF helps identify geographic regions at higher risk for disease development and potential triggers.

Background And Objective: The relationship between IPF development and environmental factors has not been completely elucidated. Analysing geographic regions of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) cases could help identify those areas with higher aggregation and investigate potential triggers. We hypothesize that cross-analysing location of IPF cases and areas of consistently high air pollution concentration could lead to recognition of environmental risk factors for IPF development.

Objectives: The study aimed to evaluate the impact of a telestroke network on acute stroke care in Catalonia, by measuring thrombolysis rates, access to endovascular treatment, and clinical outcome of telestroke patients in a population-based study.

Methods: Telestroke network was implemented on March 2013 and consists of 12 community hospitals and 1 expert stroke neurologist 24 h/7 day, covering a population of 1.3 million inhabitants.

Fludarabine combinations are very affective in follicular lymphoma (FL) with high rates of complete response and prolonged survival. However, late toxicities could be a concern. This paper presents a case of a sleeve gastrectomy and a left adrenalectomy by laparoscopy for a morbidly obese patient with Cushing's syndrome.

Presentation Of Case: A 52 year-old male patient with a BMI of 53kg/m(2) was diagnosed as having Cushing's syndrome caused by a left adrenal tumor.

[Urology care demand analysis in a specialty centre with a high percentage of immigrant patients].

Objective: The objective of this study is to describe patients referred for urological examination by their primary health care centres according to ethnicity and the disorders in question. The area selected for this study is the Raval Sur neighborhood in the city of Barcelona which has a high immigrant population. This will enable us to understand the health needs of an emerging population which is gaining considerable importance in many Spanish cities, at least where the specialty of urology is concerned.

[State of public pneumology in Catalonia (Spain): 1993 versus 2003].

The aim of this study was to perform a descriptive analysis of the state of public pneumology in Catalonia (Spain) in 2003 and to compare the results with data from 1993. A questionnaire was sent to all hospitals of the public hospitals network in Catalonia requesting information on the number of pulmonologists. To determine the number of pulmonologists working in primary care, we also contacted all the primary care services (PCS) in Catalonia.

[Impact of thrombolytic therapy on short and long-term survival of a cohort of patients with acute myocardial infarction consecutively admitted to all the hospitals of a health care area. GESIR-5 study].

Aim: This study aims to assess the application of thrombolysis in patients with acute myocardial infarction admitted to all the hospitals of a health care area in Catalonia (Spain), and to estimate the effect of thrombolysis on short and long-term survival.

Methods: From May 1992 to May 1993, all the patients with myocardial infarction admitted to the hospitals of the Costa de Ponent area in the first 72 hours after the initial symptoms were consecutively included in this prospective study. Information on pre-hospital phase, emergency room management and hospitalization was collected.

[Topical nitroglycerin: an alternative in the conservative treatment of biliary fistula].

A patient with post-laparoscopic cholecystectomy cystic duct leak successfully treated with conservative treatment is presented. The cystic duct leak was diagnosed through a CPRE where a Oddy sphyncter spasm was noted. The use of a topic Nytroglicerine resulted in a sphincter release and resolution of the fistula.
