The clinical manifestations range from mild or nonspecific symptoms to manifestations similar to Guillain-Barré syndrome, bulbar involvement, and death in 10% of the patients. Action of nedocromil sodium in exercise-induced asthma in adolescents.

In view of the high incidence of exercise-induced asthma (EIA) in asthmatic adolescents and adults, the aim of the present study was to examine the preventive effect of nedocromil sodium administered prior to an exercise provocation test. The study involved 30 adolescents with EIA, aged between 14 and 19 years, who attended gymnastics classes at the Children's Hospital and Aerobics School. Baseline spirometry, six-minute treadmill running and spirometry for 7-15 minutes post-exercise were performed.

A new percutaneous needle for pulmonary biopsy is described in this report, as well as its clinical applications--showing the different types of material that may be obtained--and the restrictions for its use. Experimental pancreatic transplantation was performed in dogs using different surgical techniques. Ten dogs underwent whole organ graft with diversion of exocrine secretion by anastomosis of duodenal segment to bladder (six animals) and of duodenum to a jejunal loop (four animals). Segmental pancreatic grafts were performed in 10 dogs with ductal filling with polymer in six animals and duct ligation in four dogs.

The case of a 17 years old female patient with fibrolamellar hepatocarcinoma and several paraneoplastic signs is reported. The clinical picture was hyperthyroidism like; subsequently metastasis lesions in lungs and muscular tissue (gluteal region) developed.
