Background: Diabetes is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases worldwide, and innovative patient support programmes can help and inform patients about their disease and improve their quality of life. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the T-Coach programme in terms of improvement of disease knowledge, self-management and adherence to treatment in a real-world setting in Spain between July 2016 and October 2018.
Methods: We analyzed data from the T-Coach programme, a telephone platform that gives support to patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus treated with insulin glargine 300 U/ml (Gla-300).

Inhaled corticosteroids (ICSs) are widely used in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and in combination with long-acting β2 agonists (LABAs) to reduce exacerbations and improve patient lung function and quality of life. However, ICSs have been associated with an increased risk of pneumonia in individuals with COPD, although the magnitude of this risk remains unclear. Therefore, it is difficult to make informed clinical decisions that balance the benefits and adverse effects of ICSs in people with COPD.

Background: Metastatic breast cancer (mBC) causes nearly all BC-related deaths. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies allow for the application of personalized medicine using targeted therapies that could improve patients' outcomes. However, NGS is not routinely used in the clinical practice and its cost induces access-inequity among patients.

Defined as the unpleasant sensation that causes the desire to scratch, pruritus is the most common skin symptom associated with uremia and appears in almost half of patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD). Beyond its direct impact on quality of life, CKD-associated pruritus (CKD-aP) is an independent predictor of mortality that also has a synergistic effect with other quality of life-related symptoms, such as insomnia, depression, and anxiety. Although different mechanisms have been proposed to explain the origin of Pa-ERC, its etiopathogenesis is still not fully understood.

Introduction: In this study, we sought to investigate the impact of 5-alpha reductase inhibitors (5-ARI) on the perioperative and functional outcomes of 180-Watt XPS GreenLight photovaporization of the prostate (PVP) using a large international database.
Materials And Methods: Data were obtained from the Global GreenLight Group (GGG) database, which includes eight high-volume, experienced surgeons from seven international centers. All men with established benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with known 5-ARI status who underwent GreenLight PVP using the XPS-180W system between 2011 and 2019 were eligible for the study.

Neuromelanin (NM) loss in substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc) and locus coeruleus (LC) reflects neuronal death in Parkinson's disease (PD). Since genetically-determined PD shows varied clinical expressivity, we wanted to accurately quantify and locate brainstem NM and iron, to discover whether specific MRI patterns are linked to Leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 G2019S PD (LRRK2-PD) or idiopathic Parkinson's disease (iPD). A 3D automated MRI atlas-based segmentation pipeline (3D-ABSP) for NM/iron-sensitive MRI images topographically characterized the SNc, LC, and red nucleus (RN) neuronal loss and calculated NM/iron contrast ratio (CR) and normalized volume (nVol).

Introduction: Extravasation is a potentially severe complication of intravenous administration of antineoplastic drugs. The limited data makes it difficult to develop an optimal management scheme. The objective of this study is to describe the clinical practice in the extravasation management of antineoplastic agents in Spanish centers.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the self-reported satisfaction of Spanish postmenopausal women currently treated for vulvovaginal atrophy (VVA) symptoms.
Methods: The CRETA (CRoss sectional European sTudy on Adherence) is a multicenter cross-sectional study conducted in 29 public and private hospitals in Spain, which enrolled postmenopausal women receiving treatment with ospemifene, local hormone therapy (HT) or vaginal moisturizers for VVA. After the prior informed consent of the patients, sociodemographic and treatment perception data were collected using a structured questionnaire.

Objective: The aim of this clinical trial was to compare the outcomes of the application of ultrasound-guided percutaneous nerve stimulation (PENS) targeting the median nerve versus surgery for improving pain and function in women with CTS.
Methods: In this randomized parallel-group trial (ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT04246216), 70 women with CTS were randomly allocated to either PENS (n = 35) or surgery (n = 35) group.

Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare type of mesenchymal lesion with variable clinical presentation in which specific clinicopathologic factors have been related to patient outcome. SFT shares an important morphologic and immunohistochemical overlap with other sarcomas, hence the differential diagnosis is challenging. Although molecular studies provide significant clues, especially in the differential diagnosis with other neoplasms, a thorough hematoxylin and eosin analysis and the integration of phenotypical, clinical, and radiological features remain an essential tool in SFT diagnosis.

Objective: To examine the external validity of the new Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) competing-risks model for prediction in midgestation of small-for-gestational-age (SGA) neonates.
Methods: This was a single-center prospective cohort study of 25 484 women with a singleton pregnancy undergoing routine ultrasound examination at 19 + 0 to 23 + 6 weeks' gestation. The FMF competing-risks model for the prediction of SGA combining maternal factors and midgestation estimated fetal weight by ultrasound scan (EFW) and uterine artery pulsatility index (UtA-PI) was used to calculate risks for different cut-offs of birth-weight percentile and gestational age at delivery.

(1) Background: Despite the prognostic improvements achieved with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), a minority of patients still fail TKIs. The recent introduction of asciminib may be a promising option in intolerant patients, as it is a first-in-class inhibitor with a more selective mechanism of action different from the ATP-competitive inhibition that occurs with TKIs. Therefore, our goal was to analyze toxicities shown with asciminib as well as to study cross-toxicity with previous TKIs.

Previous evidence suggests that distinct ventral and dorsal streams respectively underpin the semantic processing of object and action knowledge. Recently, we found that brain tumor patients with dorsal gliomas in frontoparietal hubs show a selective longitudinal compensation (post-vs. pre-surgery) during the retrieval of lexico-semantic information about actions (but not objects), indexed by power increases in beta rhythms (13-28 Hz).

Introduction: The benefit of complete revascularization (CR) on long-term total event reduction in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and multivessel disease (MVD), still remains unclear. We assessed the efficacy of three different revascularization strategies on long-term total recurrent events.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 414 consecutive patients admitted with STEMI and MVD who were categorized according to the revascularization strategy used: culprit-vessel-only percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) (n=163); in-hospital CR (n=136); and delayed CR (n=115).
