The alteration of the gut microbiota mediated by proton pump inhibitor (PPI) drugs could be involved in the clinical response associated with immunotherapy [immunocheckpoint inhibitors (ICIs)] in cancer patients. Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is a rare genetic condition whose main symptoms are recurrent swelling in the skin, mucosa, and internal organs. Recent studies suggested that the regulation of the inflammatory response and the complement cascade are two of the pathways significantly enriched in the Canary Islands, Spain. Objective: In certain situations parenteral nutrition subsidiary patients may have an increase in zinc demand (Zn). The objective of the study was to know the scope of the use of Zn sulfate in patients with parenteral nutrition in Spanish hospitals.
Method: A survey was designed focusing on the incorporation of Zn sulfate into parenteral nutrition, under real practice conditions, in the adult and pediatric population.

The identification of patients with advanced and complex chronic diseases, and the fragmentation of care towards the end of life, requires the drawing up a long-term therapeutic plan. This should take into account the values and preferences of the patients, as well as the vital and functional prognosis. Having an adjustment tool for determining the diagnostic and therapeutic effort is helpful in the continuity of care, as well as in decision-making in the transitions and dynamic changes of patients as they approach the end of life process.

The Stent for Life Initiative was launched by the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (a registered branch of the ESC) and EuroPCR. The purpose of the initiative is to support the implementation of European Society of Cardiology guidelines on management of acute myocardial infarction, help identify barriers to implementation of guidelines, and define actions to ensure that the majority of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients in Europe have access to primary percutaneous coronary intervention. The key objectives are to define the countries with an unmet medical need in the optimal treatment of STEMI and implement an action program to increase patient access to primary percutaneous coronary intervention.
