Overlapping of DRESS and Stevens-Johnson syndrome due to first-line antituberculosis drugs: a case report.

The overlap of Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms (DRESS) and Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) caused by antituberculosis drugs represents an extremely rare event. This situation can manifest between 2 and 8 weeks after the first exposure to the medication. The overlap of these conditions can lead to atypical clinical manifestations, thus complicating the early diagnosis and the implementation of early treatment.

Hemoadsorption in Multiorgan Failure Due to Viscerocutaneous Loxoscelism.

: The bite of the Loxosceles spider is a public health problem around the world, mainly in Latin America. The viscerocutaneous presentation is related to the inoculation of toxins (phospholipase-D) that generates a systemic inflammatory reaction with a subsequent increase in cytokines and chemokines. Hemoadsorption is proposed as a therapy that allows for the removal of the toxin and modulation of the inflammatory response in this disease.

Emerging carbapenem-resistant in a tertiary care hospital in Lima, Peru.

The emergence of carbapenem-resistant (CRKP) poses a significant public health threat, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) with limited surveillance and treatment options. This study examines the genetic diversity, resistance patterns, and transmission dynamics of 66 CRKP isolates recovered over 5 years (2015-2019) after the first case of CRKP was identified at a tertiary care hospital in Lima, Peru. Our findings reveal a shift from to as the dominant carbapenemase gene after 2017.

Introduction: The benefit of prenatal steroids in fetal lung maturation is well established, but their effect on the kidney has not been studied in detail in humans. Animal models have shown an increase in the expression of Na+/H+ exchangers, Na+-K+-ATPase pumps and aquaporin-1.
