In diabetes mellitus there are qualitative and quantitative alterations in the lipid metabolism, which contribute to ischaemic heart disease. Pre- and post-surgical (within six to nine months) audiometries were studied, analyzing the 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz, 2,000 Hz and 4,000 Hz frequencies.
