Resting state electroencephalography (EEG) has proved useful in studying electrophysiological changes in neurodegenerative diseases. In many neuropathologies, microstate analysis of the eyes-closed (EC) scalp EEG is a robust and highly reproducible technique for assessing topological changes with high temporal resolution. However, scalp EEG microstate maps tend to underestimate the non-occipital or non-alpha-band networks, which can also be used to detect neuropathological changes.

Moderate-to-severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a debilitating disease that often requires biological therapy. Despite the effectiveness of approved doses, some patients experience partial or loss of response over time, leading to the need for dose intensification. This retrospective multicentre study aimed to identify predictors of biological therapy intensification in HS patients.

Visual Performance of Children with Amblyopia after 6 Weeks of Home-Based Dichoptic Visual Training.

Objectives: This study was aimed at analyzing the efficacy on the improvement of the visual function of a dichoptic online cloud-based platform for the treatment of amblyopia in anisometropic children.

Methods: A quasi-experimental (pretest-post-test) study was conducted in 23 subjects with ages from 5 to 15 years old with anisometropic amblyopia combined with additional presence (2 subjects) or not (21 subjects) of microtropia. A total of 30 home-based training sessions of 30 min per session with Bynocs platform were prescribed for 6 weeks.

Compassionate use of esketamine intranasal in patients with severe major depressive disorder resistant to the treatment.

Background: Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) is defined as the failure of at least two antidepressants in adequate doses and timing during a major depressive episode. Esketamine intranasal (ESK-IN) has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency for the treatment of TRD in combination with other antidepressants.

Purpose: To describe a rare case of acquired enophthalmos in a patient with idiopathic orbital inflammatory disease after treatment with systemic corticosteroids.

Observations: Orbital socket contracture produces a non-traumatic enophthalmos and is most frequently reported as a consequence of orbital trauma or metastatic fibrosis. Effectiveness of non-surgical management in rotator cuff calcific tendinopathy (the effect trial): protocol for a randomised clinical trial.

Introduction: Rotator cuff calcific tendinopathy (RCCT) involves calcific deposits in the rotator cuff. Non-surgical interventions such as extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) and ultrasound-guided percutaneous irrigation of calcific tendinopathy (US-PICT) are recommended for its early management. Exercise therapy (ET) has shown to be an effective intervention for people with rotator cuff tendinopathy, but it has not been formally tested in RCCT.

Usefulness of virtual reality in the management of pain associated with venepuncture: a multicentre randomized clinical trial.
