Background And Objective: Staging Parkinson's disease (PD) with a novel simple classification called MNCD, based on four axes (Motor; Non-motor; Cognition; Dependency) and five stages, correlated with disease severity, patients' quality of life and caregivers' strain and burden. Our aim was to apply the MNCD classification in advanced PD patients treated with device-aided therapy (DAT).
Patients And Methods: A multicenter observational retrospective study of the first patients to start the levodopa-entacapone-carbidopa intestinal gel (LECIG) in Spain was performed (LECIPARK study).
Background: Patients with secondary acute myeloid leukemia who previously received hypomethylating agents for prior myeloid neoplasms (HMA-sAML) face a dismal prognosis.
Methods: The authors analyze the characteristics, therapeutic approaches, and outcomes of patients with HMA-sAML from the Programa Español para el Tratamiento de Hemopatías Malignas (PETHEMA) registry.
Results: A total of 479 patients were included, mostly from prior myelodysplastic syndrome (84%).

Background: Up to two thirds of patients with severe uncontrolled asthma (SUA) who received biological therapy do not have a complete response.
Research Question: Can bronchial biopsy (BB) play a role in the identification of patients with SUA who has a better response to biological therapy?
Study Design: AND METHODS: Prospective multicentre study. Consecutive SUA patients candidate to biological therapy underwent bronchoscopy and BB prior to biological therapy and clinical response was evaluated 6 months later.

Aim: To compare glycemic control and maternal-fetal outcomes of women with type 1 diabetes (T1D) using Minimed™ 780G (MM780G) with those women using Minimed™ 640G (MM640G) since before pregnancy.
Methods: Multicenter prospective cohort study of pregnant women with T1D in Spain. We evaluated HbA1c, time spent within (TIRp), below (TBRp) and above (TARp) the pregnancy-specific glucose range 3.

Background: The phase 2 ASUNCTIS study assessed the efficacy and safety of asunercept, a fully human CD95 (Fas) ligand-binding protein, in hospitalised patients with moderate-to-severe coronavirus disease (COVID-19) to assess the clinical benefit of CD95 ligand inhibition in this viral disease.
Methods: In this open-label, multicentre, randomised, controlled, phase 2 trial, patients with COVID-19-induced pneumonia and respiratory deterioration were randomly assigned (1:1:1:1) in 12 Russian and Spanish hospitals using an interactive web-response system to receive standard of care (SOC) or SOC plus weekly asunercept 25 mg, 100 mg, or 400 mg, administered intravenously for up to 4 weeks, or until hospital discharge or death. The randomisation was stratified according to the respiratory support methods at the time of enrolment, corresponding to categories 4-6 of a clinical severity assessment scale comprising 9 levels that was recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) at the time of the study.
Background And Purpose: Levodopa-entacapone-carbidopa intestinal gel (LECIG) infusion is a recently developed device-aided therapy for advanced Parkinson disease (PD) patients. The aim of this study was to report real-world evidence about the effectiveness, tolerability, and safety of LECIG in PD patients.
Methods: A multicenter observational retrospective study of the first patients who initiated LECIG in Spain was performed.

Objective: Systematic review of current evidence to analyze the prevalence of extracranial large vessel vasculitis (LVV) using F-FDG PET/CT in patients with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) or giant cell arteritis (GCA).
Materials And Methods: PubMed and EMBASE were searched and the results were screened by two reviewers. Study quality was assessed using a modified version of the Newcastle-Ottawa scale.

Objective: To develop an improved score for prediction of severe infection in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), namely, the SLE Severe Infection Score-Revised (SLESIS-R) and to validate it in a large multicentre lupus cohort.
Methods: We used data from the prospective phase of RELESSER (RELESSER-PROS), the SLE register of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology. A multivariable logistic model was constructed taking into account the variables already forming the SLESIS score, plus all other potential predictors identified in a literature review.

Introduction: Biomarker-informed criteria were proposed for the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) by the National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer's Association (NIA-AA) in 2011; however, the adequacy of this criteria has not been sufficiently evaluated.
Methods: ReDeMa () is a regional cohort of patients attending memory and neurology clinics. Core cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers were obtained, NIA-AA diagnostic criteria were considered, and changes in diagnosis and management were evaluated.

Background: Despite advances in cancer and venous thromboembolism (VTE) management, the epidemiology of cancer-associated thrombosis management over time remains unclear.
Objectives: We analyzed data from the RIETE (Registro Informatizado de la Enfermedad Trombo Embólica) registry spanning 2001 to 2020 to investigate temporal trends in clinical characteristics and treatments for cancer-associated thrombosis.
Methods: Using multivariable survival regression, we examined temporal trends in risk-adjusted rates of symptomatic VTE recurrences, major bleeding, and death within 30 days after incident VTE.
