After a number of failed drug studies on Alzheimer's disease (AD) over the past decade, clinical trials of AD started to show encouraging results and were approved or pending approval for clinical use. However, controversies on the clinically meaningful benefits and risks of brain edema and microhemorrhages have reminded us to think further about monitoring treatment and developing new drug targets. Losing either type of cochlear sensory hair cells leads to hearing impairment. Inner hair cells act as primary mechanoelectrical transducers, while outer hair cells enhance sound-induced vibrations within the organ of Corti. Established inner ear damage models, such as systemic administration of ototoxic aminoglycosides, yield inconsistent and variable hair cell death in mice.

This document is the outcome of a group of experts brought together at the request of the French Society of Sleep Research and Medicine to provide recommendations for the management of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome type 1 (OSA) in children. The recommendations are based on shared experience and published literature. OSA is suspected when several nighttime respiratory symptoms related to upper airway obstruction are identified on clinical history taking.

Efficacy and safety of low dose intravenous cangrelor in a consecutive cohort of patients undergoing neuroendovascular procedures.

Background: Cangrelor is an intravenous P2Y12 inhibitor with rapid onset and fast offset of antiplatelet action. Dose adjusted cangrelor based on platelet function testing is suggested to be advantageous for use during neuroendovascular procedures. In this study, we aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of this strategy.
