Background: Infections are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with pemphigus vulgaris (PV). One of the most common infections in these patients is candidiasis. This is probably due to the use of systemic immunosuppressants, including oral and intravenous corticosteroids, mainly in megadoses (pulse therapy), although it is unknown if there are other associated factors, in addition to immunosuppressive treatment.

Aim: The aim of this study is to compare the differences in body composition in patients with obesity with successful weight loss (SWL) and unsuccessful (USWL) 1 year after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB).
Methods: We included 36 women and 22 men. After stratifying patients according with SWL (defined as ≥ 50% of excess weight loss), fat-free mass (FFM) and fat mass (FM) trajectories were analyzed in each group.

We present three cases of abdominal actinomycosis in females, one presenting with an abdominal mass and the two others underwent emergency surgery because of acute abdomen with a diagnosis of complicated acute appendicitis. The first patient (age 36 years) presented with an abdominal mass in the left lower quadrant arising from the colon as observed by abdominal computed tomography (CT). The patient was brought to the operating room and tumoral resection was done.

Material And Methods: We made a clinical assay in healthy adult subjects realising skin tests with histamine for prick (1 mg/ml) and intradermal (0.01 mg/ml) daily during the taking of astemizol 10 mg during 7 days and during 7 days after suspending it, as well as the day 14, 21 and 28.
