Patient-specific implant placement in the case of pelvic tumour resection is usually a complex procedure, where the planned optimal position of the prosthesis may differ from the final location. This discrepancy arises from incorrect or differently executed bone resection and improper final positioning of the prosthesis. In order to overcome such mismatch, a navigation solution is presented based on an augmented reality application for HoloLens 2 to assist the entire procedure.

Background & Aims: Expression of P21, encoded by the gene, has been associated with fibrosis progression in steatotic liver disease (SLD); however, the underlying mechanisms remain unknown. In the present study, we investigated the function of CDKN1A in SLD.
Methods: expression levels were evaluated in different patient cohorts with SLD, fibrosis, and advanced chronic liver disease (ACLD).

Objective: To find out whether the use of indocyanine green for lymphatic sparing in the laparoscopic Palomo technique reduces the incidence of postoperative hydrocele.
Materials And Methods: A comparative cohort study of varicocele patients treated with the laparoscopic Palomo technique from 2008 to 2023 was carried out. Patients were divided into two groups according to whether fluorescence lymphography (intratesticular indocyanine green) had been performed or not.
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges for healthcare systems globally, impacting critical care resources and patient outcomes. Understanding its multifaceted effects is crucial for future crisis response.
Objective: Analyze the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic on mechanical ventilation cases and mortality among non-SARS-CoV-2 patients.
Bridging therapy (BT) after leukapheresis is required in most relapsed/refractory (R/R) large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) patients receiving chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells. Bendamustine-containing regimens are a potential BT option. We aimed to assess if this agent had a negative impact on CAR-T outcomes when it was administered as BT.

There is no standard next line of therapy and information in this setting is scarce and heterogeneous. We analyzed 387 R/R LBCL patients who progressed after CAR T cells from July 2018 until March 2022 in Spain and the United Kingdom.

Background: Bariatric surgery (BS) may decrease the risk of these obesity-related complications; however, due to its effect on nutrient intake and absorption, it can also have adverse consequences on maternal and foetal health. The aim of this study is to describe the evolution of electrolytes and trace elements serum levels throughout pregnancy after BS, according to the surgical technique and to evaluate the effect of nutritional deficiencies on the risk of maternal-foetal complications.
Methods: This is a retrospective observational study of the clinical evolution and maternal-foetal complications in a group of women with pregnancies that occurred after BS.

Background: The stay in a critical care unit (CCU) has a serious impact on physical condition causing numerous discomfort factors such as pain or difficulty in communicating. All of these are associated with possible sequelae following discharge from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) named post-ICU syndrome. The Kolcaba Comfort Theory allows, from a holistic approach, to identify care needs from the patient's perspective using instruments such as the General Comfort Questionnaire (GCQ).

Despite this, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) staging system for CS severity lacks validation in patients with TTS and CS. This study aimed to characterize a patient cohort with TTS using the SCAI staging system and assess its utility in cases of TTS complicated by CS.

Introduction: arthroscopic surgical treatment of rotator cuff tendon injuries has replaced open surgery as the first treatment option. Different surgical techniques have been described for massive or irreparable ruptures, and recently, a new device that consists of a biodegradable subacromial spacer between the humeral head and the acromion has been used. The present study aims to analyse the results of this implant in our experience.

In the last decade, the participation of nurses in research has increased and different roles have emerged in this area: clinical research nurse, research nurse, research support nurse and research consumer nurse. In this regard, the terms clinical research nurse and research nurse are often confused and used interchangeably. However, these are four different profiles, because the functions, training requirements, skills and responsibilities of these vary considerably and that is why it seems interesting to define the contents and competencies of each of them.
