Transplanted patients could benefit from complementary techniques. This prospective single-center, open study, performed in a tertiary university hospital, evaluates the appropriation and efficacy of a toolbox-kit of complementary techniques. Self-hypnosis, sophrology, relaxation, holistic gymnastics, and transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation (TENS) were taught to adult patients scheduled for double-lung transplantation.

Importance: To date, recurrent implantation failure (RIF) has no clear definition and no clearly identified impaired function. Hence, the term RIF is currently used somewhat haphazardly, on the basis of clinicians' judgment.
Objective: International experts in reproductive medicine met on July 1, 2022, in Lugano, Switzerland, to review the different facets of RIF and define the diagnosis and its appropriate management.

Introduction: Pembrolizumab alone (IO-mono) or in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy (CT-IO) is first-line standard of care for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with PD-L1 ≥ 50%. This retrospective multicentre study assessed real-world use and efficacy of both strategies.
Methods: Patients with advanced NSCLC PD-L1 ≥ 50% from eight hospitals who had received at least one cycle of IO-mono or CT-IO were included.

Objectives: Chronic pain has a substantial negative impact on work-related outcomes, which underlines the importance of interventions to reduce the burden. Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) efficiently relieves pain in specific chronic pain syndromes and is recommended for treating failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS) or post-surgical chronic back pain that is refractory to other treatments. To examine the impact of SCS in patients with FBSS on the return to work (RTW), we determined the RTW rate and the factors positively associated with the RTW.

Background: During the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2022, outcome data of a great number of clinical trials were presented. For the attending medical oncologist, it is important to structure these data in a way that facilitates a trade-off between treatment burden and benefit.
Materials And Methods: To illustrate this, we carried out a narrative non-systematic review of 12 selected oral presentations with potential impact on future daily practice, focusing on trial methodology, possible study flaws, reported clinical benefit and implementability.

Purpose: To compare the expression profile of extracellular vesicle microRNAs (EV-miRNAs) derived from follicular fluid after a trigger with recombinant human chorionic gonadotropin (r-hCG) or with a gonadotropin-releasing hormone GnRH agonist (GnRH-a) for final oocyte maturation.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of a prospective cohort. Women undergoing in vitro fertilization at a tertiary university-affiliated hospital were recruited between 2014 and 2016.

Background: A potential benefit of intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) before mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is pre-interventional reperfusion. Currently, there are few data on the occurrence of pre-interventional reperfusion in patients randomized to IVT or no IVT before MT.
Methods: SWIFT DIRECT (Solitaire With the Intention For Thrombectomy Plus Intravenous t-PA vs DIRECT Solitaire Stent-retriever Thrombectomy in Acute Anterior Circulation Stroke) was a randomized controlled trial including acute ischemic stroke IVT eligible patients being directly admitted to a comprehensive stroke center, with allocation to IVT with MT versus MT alone.

Uterus transplantation is a new treatment for patients with absolute uterine infertility that is conducted in order to enable them to carry their own pregnancy. One of the limitations for its development is donor availability. Some transgender males undergo a hysterectomy in the gender-affirming surgery process, and might be interested in donating their uterus for transplantation.

The New England Journal of Medicine recently published a large study addressing the efficacy of preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A). The 14-centre randomized control non-inferiority trial used cumulative live birth rate (CLBR) as a clinical endpoint to examine the value of PGT-A and concluded that conventional IVF was not inferior to IVF with PGT-A. Unfortunately, the experimental design was highly flawed; and in fact, the data generated in the study do not support the major conclusions presented in the publication.

Background: The Safety and Efficacy of Intensive Blood Pressure Lowering after Successful Endovascular Therapy in Acute Ischaemic Stroke (BP TARGET) trial demonstrated no benefit from intensive systolic blood pressure (SBP) treatment after successful reperfusion with endovascular therapy. However, it remains unknown if the response to blood pressure treatment is modified by other factors.
Objective: To carry out a post hoc analysis of the BP TARGET trial data to determine if the response to blood pressure treatment is modified by factors such as age, history of hypertension, recanalization status, location of occlusion, diabetes, hyperglycemia, or pretreatment with intravenous thrombolysis.

This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to evaluate the impact of chronic endometritis (CE) and its therapy on in vitro fertilization (IVF) outcome. Additionally, we aim to investigate whether various degrees of CE severity may exert a different effect on IVF outcome. Ongoing-pregnancy rate/live-birth-rate (OPR/LBR), clinical-pregnancy rate (CPR), and miscarriage rate (MR) were calculated.

In recent years, solid organ transplantations, such as kidney or lung grafts, have been performed worldwide with an improvement of quality of life under immunosuppressive therapy and an increase in life expectancy, allowing young women to consider childbearing. In the current study, we conduct a retrospective study in two French centers for kidney and lung transplantations to evaluate the rate and outcomes of pregnancies, contraception and gynecological monitoring for women under 40 years old who underwent solid organ transplantation. Among 210 women, progestin was the most widely used contraceptive method.

Before the first live birth following uterus transplantation (UTx) in 2014, the 1-2% of women with an absent or non-functional uterus had no hope of childbearing. With 64 cases of UTx and 34 births reported in the scientific literature, this emerging technology has the potential for translation into mainstream clinical practice. However, limitations currently include donor availability, recipient suitability, surgical challenges regarding success and complications, and recipient management after UTx and during pregnancy.

Background: In the context of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, our interest was to evaluate the effect of COVID-19 during pregnancy on placenta and coagulation factors.
Methods: a prospective cohort study between January and July 2021 of 55 pregnant women stratified into: Group O, 16 patients with ongoing SARS-CoV-2 infection at delivery; Group R, 21 patients with a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection during pregnancy but who recovered prior to delivery; Group C, 18 control patients with no infection at any time. All women had nasopharyngeal SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR tests performed within 72 h of delivery.

C3 glomerulopathy (C3G) is a rare complement-mediated disease. Specific treatments are not yet available and factors predictive of kidney survival such as age, kidney function and proteinuria are not specific to C3G. The prognostic value of biomarkers of complement activation, which are pathognomonic of the diseases, remains unknown.

The assessments of oocyte quality and quantity and endocrine profile have traditionally been the cornerstone of the general workup of couples with infertility. Over the years, several clinical, hormonal, and functional biomarkers have been adopted to assess ovarian function and identify endocrine disorders before assisted reproductive technology. Furthermore, the genetic workup of patients has drastically changed, introducing novel markers.
