Intra-articular fractures of the distal radius require anatomical reduction and stable fixation. When the fracture encompasses the articular facet of the bone, maintaining the reduction is challenging due to the fragment's size and high instability. While specific implants have been developed to fix this fragment, their effectives have been limited.

Long-Term Outcomes of Childhood Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia Treated with Adapted Berlin-Frankfurt-Münster (BFM) Protocols: A Multicentric Analysis from a Developing Country.

Introduction: The objective of the current study was to determine the survival probabilities of children and adolescents with acute lymphocytic leukemia treated with adapted Berlin-Frankfurt-Münster (BFM) protocols and compare our results with the original BFM reports.

Methods: This retrospective study included 695 patients up to 19 years old treated with adapted BFM protocols between 1997 and 2018 in four hospitals in Rio de Janeiro. The 1997-2007 and 2008-2018 cohorts were analyzed separately.

Landscape of Invasive Fusariosis in Pediatric Cancer Patients: Results of a Multicenter Observational Study From Latin America.

Invasive fusariosis (IF) is a life-threatening opportunistic infection that affects vulnerable hosts. We conducted a multicenter and multinational retrospective study to characterize the natural history and clinical management of IF in pediatric cancer patients. We selected patients <18 years old who were sequentially hospitalized in 10 Latin American medical centers with a diagnosis of IF between 2002 and 2021.

ALBUMIN VERSUS STANDARD MEDICAL TREATMENT IN BRAZILIAN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS.

•To assess the economic impact of implementing long-term albumin infusions in patients with cirrhosis and ascites in Brazil •Incremental cost per cirrhotic patient treated with long-term albumin was estimated based on the rates of complications and healthcare resource utilization from the ANSWER trial and local costs from the public and private healthcare system perspective in Brazil. •Implementation of long-term albumin could save up to 118,759 BRL and 189,675 BRL per patient treated in the public and private healthcare system setting, respectively. •Should results from the ANSWER trial translate into real-world effectiveness, addition of albumin to standard medical treatment could lead to improved clinical outcomes and reduced costs.
