Objective: Accurately measuring intracardiac flow patterns could provide insights into cardiac disease pathophysiology, potentially enhancing diagnostic and prognostic capabilities. This study aims to validate Echo-Particle Image Velocimetry (echoPIV) for in vivo left ventricular intracardiac flow imaging against 4D flow MRI.
Methods: We acquired high frame rate contrast-enhanced ultrasound images from three standard apical views of 26 patients who required cardiac MRI.

Introduction: Septic shock, a life-threatening condition, can result in cerebral dysfunction and heightened mortality rates. In these patients, disturbances in cerebral hemodynamics, as reflected by impairment of myogenic cerebral autoregulation (CA), metabolic regulation, expressed by critical closing pressure (CrCP) and reductions in intracranial compliance (ICC), can adversely impact septic shock outcomes. The general recommendation is to maintain a target mean arterial pressure (MAP) of 65 mmHg but the effect of different MAP targets on cerebral hemodynamics in these patients is not clear and optimal targets might be dependent on the status of CA.

Background: Prolonged venous transit (PVT), defined as presence of time-to-maximum 10 s within the superior sagittal sinus (SSS) and/or torcula, is a novel, qualitatively assessed computed tomography perfusion surrogate parameter of venous outflow with potential utility in pretreatment acute ischemic stroke imaging for neuroprognostication. We aim to characterize the correlation between PVT and neurological functional outcomes in thrombectomy-treated patients.
Methods: A prospectively-collected database of large vessel occlusion acute ischemic stroke patients treated with thrombectomy was retrospectively analyzed.

If multiple-breath washout (MBW)-derived acinar ventilation heterogeneity (Sacin) really represents peripheral units, the N phase-III of the first MBW exhalation should be curvilinear. This is essentially due to the superposed effect of gas diffusion and convection resulting in an equilibration of N concentrations between neighboring lung units throughout exhalation. Background: There is currently no staging system for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) that is adapted to decision-making and universally used. Experts have unconscious ability to simplify the heterogeneity of clinical situations into a few relevant groups to drive their therapeutic decisions. Therefore, we have used unsupervised clustering of real cases by experts to generate an operational classification of cSCCs, an approach that was successful for basal cell carcinomas.

Background: Given the growing use of home enteral nutrition (HEN), assessing the experience of consumers and caregivers is crucial to understanding the real-world subjective and objective challenges of administering HEN.
Methods: After obtaining institutional review board approval, a survey was distributed to HEN consumers and caregivers between January 16, 2020, and July 16, 2021. Data collected included information regarding demographics, primary diagnosis, tube and connectors, HEN regimen, and overall HEN experience.

Motor skills dynamically evolve during practice and after training. Using magnetoencephalography, we investigated the neural dynamics underpinning motor learning and its consolidation in relation to sleep during resting-state periods after the end of learning (boost window, within 30 min) and at delayed time scales (silent 4 h and next day 24 h windows) with intermediate daytime sleep or wakefulness. Resting-state neural dynamics were investigated at fast (sub-second) and slower (supra-second) timescales using Hidden Markov modelling (HMM) and functional connectivity (FC), respectively, and their relationship to motor performance.

This guideline addresses the epidemiology, diagnostics, risk stratification and treatments in immunocompetent as well as immunosuppressed patients. Actinic keratoses (AK) are potential precursors of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) and display typical histopathologic and immunohistochemical features of this malignancy in an early stage.

Design: In this prospectively collected, retrospectively reviewed multicenter study from 9/1/2017 to 9/22/2022, patients were dichotomized into favorable and unfavorable AM-PAC. Multivariate logistic regression and receiver operator characteristics analyses were performed for the identified significant variables.

Background And Purpose: In large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke patients, relative cerebral blood flow (rCBF)<30% volume thresholds are commonly used in treatment decisions. In the early time window, nearly infarcted but salvageable tissue volumes may lead to pretreatment overestimates of infarct volume, and thus potentially exclude patients who may otherwise benefit from intervention. Our multisite analysis aims to explore the strength of relationships between widely used pretreatment CT parameters and clinical outcomes for early window stroke patients.

Although pretreatment radiographic biomarkers are well established for hemorrhagic transformation (HT) following successful mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in large vessel occlusion (LVO) strokes, they are yet to be explored for medium vessel occlusion (MeVO) acute ischemic strokes. We aim to investigate pretreatment imaging biomarkers representative of collateral status, namely the hypoperfusion intensity ratio (HIR) and cerebral blood volume (CBV) index, and their association with HT in successfully recanalized MeVOs. A prospectively collected registry of acute ischemic stroke patients with MeVOs successfully recanalized with MT between 2019 and 2023 was retrospectively reviewed.

Background: Pretreatment CT Perfusion (CTP) parameters serve as reliable surrogates of collateral status (CS). In this study, we aim to assess the relationship between the novel compensation index (CI, Tmax > 4 s/Tmax > 6 s) and already established CTP collateral markers, namely cerebral blood volume (CBV) index and Hypoperfusion Intensity Ratio (HIR), with the reference standard American Society of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (ASITN) collateral score (CS) on DSA.
Methods: In this retrospective study, inclusion criteria were the following: (a) CT angiography confirmed anterior circulation large vessel occlusion from 9 January 2017 to 10 January 2023; (b) diagnostic CT perfusion; and (c) underwent mechanical thrombectomy with documented DSA-CS.

Quality of Life (QoL) assessment in dermatology is also a rapidly developing field with a gradual shift from theory to practice. The purpose of this paper organized jointly by the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) Task Force (TF) on QoL and patient-oriented outcomes and the EADV TF on teledermatology is to present current knowledge about QoL assessment during the use of teledermatology approaches, including data on health-related (HR) QoL instruments used in teledermatology, comparison of influence of different treatment methods on HRQoL after face-to-face and teledermatology consultations and to make practical recommendations concerning the assessment of QoL in teledermatology.
