Background: Colorectal Cancer Screening Programs (CRCSP) are widely accepted in developed countries. Unfortunately, financial restrictions, low adherence rate and variability on colonoscopy standardization hamper the implementation of CRCSP in developing countries.

Carney described a disorder characterized by the presence of several uncommon tumors which were pulmonary chondromas, gastric sarcomas and extra-adrenal paragangliomas. We report a 14 year-old girl in whom multiple gastric tumors were discovered during a study of an iron deficiency anemia and was subjected to a partial gastrectomy. At 25 years of age, she developed several pulmonary chondromas and at 33 years, a mediastinal tumor with features of an extra-adrenal paraganglioma was found.

Dermatomyositis is an autoimmune inflammatory myopathy associated with dermatologic findings. Its association with neoplasms is widely reported and has been shown to be higher in lung cancer, particularly small-cell carcinoma, probably as it originates from neuroendocrine cell precursors, as well as breast and ovarian cancer. The low frequency of dermatomyositis makes it difficult to suspect the underlying lesions among the diagnostic possibilities of systemic diseases with cutaneous manifestations.

Background: Metabolic control of diabetic pregnant women is assessed using glycated hemoglobin (HbAlc) levels and fasting blood sugar. Another glycated protein, namely fructosamine, can be an indicator of average glucose levels during the last three weeks.
Aim: To evaluate plasma fructosamine as an indicator of glycemic control in women with gestational diabetes.
